you got a point man, really we all have to think what we want, then how to make it happen and then connect with our hands to see it did. so yeah. A LOT of thought into EACH model, nevermind each part, we work on!

Though I no longer build, I'm inspired by the creativity of others. I once saw a foto of the motel room where one "ace" modeler did his work. A tiny table, a home made ducted-to-the-outdoors spray booth and compressor and airbrush all fit nicely. Fancy isn't necessary to enjoy a hobby! Thanx for the views of where you each do your magic!

harron68, You've got a point, all I really seek is "workable" space, doesn't have to be pretty, just not falling down around me is all i require for a work space..... lol Look at my "shop" its a glorified storage area of the house.....The basement took that as I needed wall space and the basement walls are Granite! Ain't no mounting to them unless you bore a 30 inch long hole through the granite blocks! SO....I took the 3rd floor even tho the temps was a battle in the very beginning!

I see at least one Mopar in that "stash".. (I'll be lookin for a 4th of the it one day... I got 3 already!)
I wish I could get away with "2" shop areas'.. I have 2, but for 2 different reasons.....I got the entire 3rd floor of my house, for the hobby stuff, with 2 walk in storage areas adjacent to the shop floor thats 14 ft by 14 ft, with a 7 foot ceiling....Which you all have seen, then, I have a work shop, a fully stocked wood shop in the basement and partly outside for household work, and repairing of things....Its in a mess right now, BUT, I got a 2nd metal lathe down there thats a bit larger then the one on the 3rd floor.. HOWEVER it gets used for all sorts of things, household related, and then if I "need" something a bit bigger then the one on the 3rd floor can handle off to the larger one in the basement I go.....
Anyway, impressive tho, GREAT work space and it looks as tho its much "enjoyed", much the same as mine!

Here are a few pics after I redid my garage a couple of months ago. It was recently put together so no building had happened here yet, thats why it looks so clean Have ot share this space with my regular tools. Its pretty messy now!

I could only DREAM of a "tool box" set up like Ice has! Thats AWESOME..... I build my own benches the ones I got are history, or well gonna be over winter. I'm re-doing the whole shop in that time!

Ice, I just noticed and have to ask,.....your old set up pictured here, did you build models and talk to your wife as she was doing laundry? (I just noticed the dryer right beside your old work bench on the left!) LOL

To funny.....my wife has her own "craft bench" in the shop.... so I got no room to rib you over your wife doing any laundry while ya built models...... For me it was a good way to have couple time as well as build and or help her with craft things as shes learning a bit from me so.... 2 crafty people I guess....
