Thanks everyone. I figured, If I can put a kit or two together with some of the complicated kits out there, I figured I could build a display case. Here is the finished product on that shelf/display I put together. Covered the whole thing in clear acrylic sheets to keep most of the dust off. It's a good looking center piece I think. To the right of it I will be putting another two cases like the ones that are filled up already. By the way, Stitch, that little red car is a shortened 1950 Ford.

I'm not sure if they have them but I got these at lowes. After you put the shelves up measure and they'll cut it for you there so you don't have to do it yourself.

Ice I gotta ask. Where'd you get the BIG plexi-glass one that looks like the old stack-able ones? Those that hold 24 models? THOSE look KILLER!

They are from Carney Plastics. Just added two more on the other side. I think this should be enough for what I have. In the future I will add one more on each side making it a total of six plus the center shelves. After that, I'm s.o.l. Lol

Sweet - got me a 50 dollar Lowes gift card for Christmas! Did you clear glue the corners? or are they just drawn together with the screws into the shelves. I bet you did some pilot holes as well so as to not crack the sheets

Thank John.
Yeah Tom, I drilled a hole into the wood and the plastic first. Not too much pressure or it will crack. No glue on the edges, in case I want to take it off and rearrange or add more. If you are going to add adhesive I would recommend clear silicone instead of glue. Maybe something you can clean with water.

Looks good with no glue - I agree - for later re-arranging, you got the right idea

NICE Work space John! I am one of those who like a tight knit hobby room/shop area, everything close by, and that is just what it looks like you have here!
The added "stickers" to give a "shop" feel to a garage only with hobby names adds to the man cave effect! two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon

RickThat was a sneeky way of doing it, but very well done i must say. I have a room on the front of my house, which used to be the front verandah, before being filled in. As for the rest of the house, it's all a hobby room, as i live alone, i have nobody to tell me otherwise.

But I got a wife and I'm sure with all the damned trains I got she would not want the models to follow suit with them LOL BUT she does seem to like the cars a bit better as I don't think she truly gets all the hype with the model trains..... I got to say tho, starting out in a rather large closet, to get into the next adjoining room is a BRILLIANT way of doing/going about it!
