My Santy Claus Entry

The engine is finally finished. I still have an exhaust system to add to it but I have to get the rest of it together before I can connect it. Wiring this thing was not easy. I did a lot of research and got it pretty close. My big problem was the wires from the mags are supposed to go in the end of the tube under the exhaust, like a flathead, and there was no way to put 6 wires in the end of that little tube. The connectors the wires run through from the tube to the heads were molded to the tube so I ran the wires direct to the connectors and thus into the heads. Scratch built the mags. Braided line and fittings to the front intake ports and hose and fittings to the main fuel valve on the engine. Not the best job I've done but it runs nice and smooth. Santy was real pleased and had a big smile on his face when I cranked her up. He will get around real fast if I can keep him and those damn elves off the NOG for a while.

INTERESTING, but still.....Not sure a grudge match is necessary... LOL Christ, sakes, I wanna finish one before I wind up in another! LOL

I feel that one.. you tell yerself, WELL this one is gonna be a simple one, just doing plug wires, Distributor, and coil wires......(LOOK at mine! Thats WHAT I had told meyself, just to be able to finish it in time!) So then NOW I got the thing fully "wired" AND plumbed!

THAT is where I get in trouble, adding the damned details I just can't live without!

This should be my last pictures here and the next ones will be in the finished area. I had to tear down the sleigh and rebuild it. It was too big. I made the exhaust system and gave Santa some nice blue snow lights. This is the only under side I can show, when it is finished I won't be able to turn it over. See if you can guess what the engine hold down straps are. Here's a hint, they are fine woven and braided brass wire, welders and solder users should know what it is. It makes good scale blower hold down straps especially when painted and smaller sizes look exactly like ground straps on batteries. It has a number of uses for modelers but every modeler I have shown it to has never heard of it. very strong but can be cut with sprue cutters and it's cheap for a good size roll.
