AK & DeeCee, I'm tryin' to keep the elves off the eggnog, I'm thinking if I drink it all up myself then I won't have to worry about them. The engine was a lot of work and it isn't finished yet. I like it a lot though.

O-M-G Dennis! Now it MAKES sense!!!! WHY you were getting "Stitched fingers"...... TO MUCH 'NOG fer you! LMAO I'm running-around-smiley-emoticon crackin' right up.... this HAS to be the most fun building I've had in I can't tell you how long! AND I can't even think to blame it on 'Nog.......... My daughter has been gettin to it BEFORE any good juice gets added to it for the after-effect......... ALCOHOL! LOL Before my MOTM, is done for the show, I got to have MY Elves check the cylinders in one of the engines.... runs a bit rough inside but they might have the key to the heads and make sure the valves aren't causing the noise...... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon They'll know when I ask 'em to look............ Crap thinkin' of that my Hemi's are big enough for them to crawl into the cylinders whole bodily! LOL

John, Stay off the nog son it isn't good for you. I haven't had a drink in 25 yrs and I don't miss it. You need to do some of the work on those big engines yourself you know more about them than those elves do and you can't trust the little fellows.

No I don't get into the Alcky stuff to much, I can tell ya this much most times, its coffee for ole John (Even tho, I drink WAY over my share of coffee, its WAY better for me then booze!) Once in a blue moon if the Step-Son wants to have a shot or so, then maybe but........ I don't drink often so..... As for the Elves. yeah in the size of the cylinders of my rig. they make good cylinder polishers or "hones" if I put a bit of grit on their coats as they work their way up an down in the cylinders LOL Isn't that terrible.......

CC, I hope it will be cool when I finish it. Being in here has made me push harder than I have before but if I don't stop coming up with something else to do to it I may have to put it in for NEXT year!

Thanks Stitch, I saw where you talked about the other forums not being nice and critical. I went through that also. Sometimes in, in many professions people get to higher levels and forget where they started. I still have the first car I built when I started back modeling 4 yrs ago. Sometime I'll post it, I take it down and look at it from time to time so I can see that I am growing in the hobby, but also to remind myself where I came from. That's what I like being here. Nobody looks down on anybody. We all try to see the good in every build. Encourages you instead of scaring you away which hurts beginners so much and is bad for the hobby. Feels like family here.

Yeah some people just seem to get off on making other people look small, but I've always thought it's nice to be nice. It's supposed to be fun isn't it

I got ya now Dennis! Magneto's you mean generators or well Alternators.....LOL OR starting mags? Its an area difference... one, I wasn't sure of, the term, so I asked, its all good! two, mags to me as a "phrase" is wheels! LOL not electrical! LOL electrical for the most part for me, is one of 2 things. an generator, OLD school, or an Alternator.....which is the newer replacement of the generator. LOL Magneto, for starting a engine on something as big as yer building here good GAWD that gotta be one hard-ass pull to fire a V-12! LOL OK I'll stop being a jerk.............. LOL As for the fun of it guys, I'ma tormenter..........I love aggravating.....AND I think I'm pretty good at it, BUT, I do it for the fun of doing it, not to be mean or all that its to be fun, ANY of it, modeling, any part of it, and then the aggravation part on my account as well.......... Like Dennis's comment "you taking the good stuff again" hells no.... but, I'm running on low sleep, been up all damn night last night and got a few winks today, and was up an about pretty early so. and have been "going" all day so... now, I'm sort of....... "punchy" I guess..... I'll git enough sleep when I'm dead.... and then the coffee won't help either! Modeling is to damn much fun!

Distributor? thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon Never heard a distributor called a "Magneto". hmmmmm that on a lawn mower engine, yes a magneto.....On a V-8, thats one on me! LOL It has to be an area differnce, as I have never heard a distributor called a magneto.....BUT knowing what each are, I can see why!
Question tho, "Magneto" may that be an "older" term, I mean an older generation term? But then Dennis and my boss way back would have been older then Dennis, and I don't ever recall hearing "Magneto" in the garage, unless we were messing with a lawn mower engine or riding tractor engine. but thats about the one and the same from Magneto for a single or twin cylinder engine on a riding mower, with a coil feeding it, then on a 4 popper to a V-10, we always called what seemed to be the same thing just a bit more mechanical a Distributor.....that was also feed by a coil.....
INTERESTING!

Jesse, Yeah.....They're all built into one, Magneto system. See I have never heard of that said.............. Always was told or heard it referred to a Distributor and coil........ not a "magneto. but yeah, it makes sense, just never heard it referred as such!
INTERESTING to say the least...... I'll have to remember that one!!!!!

John if you look at the 1:1 pics in my "Experimenting" thread in Drag Racing the big red thingies in front of the right valve covers sticking up are MSD Magnetos. Each companies mags have a different shape. Magnetos are not "old school" they are new technology.
