My first wife was like you John. She had diabetes since she was 8 yrs old. When she was 27 and we had been married 6 yrs she went into a diabetic coma one night and she was dead when I woke up. My daughter was still in a crib and I raised her by myself for 3 yrs before I got married again. My wife now had quadruple by-pass, like you did, only she didn't recover well and she was in a hospital bed on oxygen in the living room for 2 yrs and I had to take care of her. Even after I lost my leg I still took care of her from a wheel chair plus did all the cooking and cleaning by myself. About 5 months ago she suddenly came out of it and is her old self and moving around and crafting again only she still can't walk very good and is in a wheelchair like me. I quit modeling for a year to take care of her and really only been modeling for 3 yrs total. I started back 4 yrs ago but stopped for 1 year. I'm not a negative person, anyway I try hard not to be but sometimes it gets hard to keep looking up all the time.

-GAWD, I hear that Dennis, it is hard to keep looking up.... it sucks so bad at times that you asked yourself "why" you know? I'm so sorry Dennis, life sometimes just ain't fair.....No one ever said it was, but still.....
This is why I enjoy modeling and my knowledge there of so much it gives me that "hope" to look up, and thats what keeps me going day in and day out, besides the fact that I have a daughter to raise along side with my Wife....
I too can be and get very negative, and sometimes almost ridiculously negative as my Wife tells me but I keep going, and thats all that matters, I do my best to take projects to fulfill that issue to make it ease a bit as I don't have time to think or be negative, and it works a bit more then I'll admit but it does get to me after awhile....
Think of all those undone kits man. thats where it starts!

AK, people like you are why I am so glad I joined this forum. I finally got the painting done but I may have to do it again because I think the cold hurt it. I'll have to see how it looks when it is dry.
John, When my first wife died I was only months out of 6 years in the Army and Vietnam and my head was already some kind of screwed up. I volunteered for therapy and finally got straightened out but I couldn't do it by myself. I don't want to bring spiritual things in here but I give God all the credit. That's why you see me say sometimes "It always gets better if you don't quit." It does. My other one is "Fear is always greater than the reality". That's why you hear people say "That wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be" What ever you are afraid of, face it and push through and it gets better!
I apologize to the other members I won't bring this up anymore.

GOD is the only reason I push through at times as he is all I got to talk it out with.....So I hear that one loud and clear even tho, I'm not as "good" as I ought to be.....BUT I AM a BELIEVER!

Thanks JM, I'm working on it Hemi, doing a lot of new things and some are working fine and some are giving me fits. The engine is going to be tough to do because I have to do a lot with the hood on and the paint is killing me. I've painted the thing 3 times now and each time it comes out funny. I may have to use acrylics. I have the sleigh almost finished. I'll post more pics tomorrow. Can't wait to see more progress on YOURS either!

Yeah crap happens at times specially during times like this! AND a race to top it all off to boot.... So yeah, so, as far as your painting, the Enamels giving you fits due to cold? That a (insert a few choice words here) to work with when its cold..... you have any of the Acrylic Enamels to work with? they don't get so "fussy" with hot or cold like that.....Might be worth the try!
Yeah, I got a few added late last night early this mornin' BUT I've got absolutely NOTHING done today running around looking for a damned monitor for my computer all day plus a few household things, NOW, I'm down to one 'puter, looking for a danged flat screen monitor cord.....BUT thats from the shop puter, for now its down till I find one....Did however look for some "extra" details for on my build so....didn't come how with anything as none ofwhat I seen was what I was lookin for so.....
So, off I go to check messages and see whats goin on, and then it be off to the shop for ole John.....

Throw the Enamel's in the bin mate, not worth the stress i think, i only use Acrylics, and i can paint in 0 degrees c, which is still damn cold, with no problems, i have a spot lamp from a hardware store, and because Acrylics dry so quickly, it only takes a few seconds in front of it in the cold weather and it is done, spot on every time, and there is no difference between my summer / winter paint jobs. The enamels are OK, to paint small detail bits etc, but thats about it i think mate. (Just my personal opinion). You are doing a great job with the sewing etc Dennis, coming along great mate.

Dale, I'm using acrylics now and I found a site that makes and sells acrylics in a spray can but it's pricey and I'm broke anyway so I am having to do different things but I'll get there.
