I can envision a lot of ideas with this kit to do a Santa build.
Excellent choice for a foundation. I'll be watching for sure.

Here's some of the body alterations I've had to do so far to accept the big engine. Cut the hood and front out to make room for the massive blower and pulleys and magneto.  |

These are some of the engine parts I intend to use. Had to use the kit basic block and build on it but it will be wired, which will be tricky, and pulley's and belt.  |

This is the pattern for the sleigh I am scratch building. It will be covered with the red furry stuff and trimmed with the white furry stuff I swiped from my wife's sewing box. I have to sew the red fur around the sleigh and she is teaching me how to sew it. You can see I have part of it sewn. She could do it in about 10 min. but it wouldn't be my creation then so I have to do it. Shouldn't take me more than a year. Then I will trim it with the red ribbon or thread. Girlie Stuff yech!   |

Here are the sleigh parts built and covered with red and white fur I sewed on. I have had no trouble checking my blood sugar [I'm diabetic, that's why I lost my leg] because I have plenty of pin holes in my fingers from sewing this fur on. The long red piece is the bottom and will wrap around the sleigh with the white seat inside. I am having a hard time getting pieces painted because it has been cold and raining outside. I may have to prime out the back door and finish it inside with brush paint. Don't know yet. I agree with DeeCee, I never thought I would have to learn to sew to build a model. SEE, you do learn new things in this forum! I am anxious to get to the engine. I am going to do some things I haven't done before with it including .................   |

I have to comment too, I also am Diabetic....I'm sad to hear thats why you lost yer leg, I'm sorry man it sure is a fickle disease! How long have you been Diabetic? I have had it since I was 2.....Juvenile Diabetes.....34 years worth of it.......Take care of your self, its partly to blame why I had open heart surgery last year.....As well as my own fault too, I used to smoke which is the other reason for the surgery.....

John, I've had diabetes about 10 yrs. Cigarettes was my problem too. Diabetes and cigs don't get along. I have my disabled vet status from losing most of my hearing in the VN war. I have always had a thing in my head that when things start to happen to you at my age, like my leg, you aren't around long. Others around me fuss at me for thinking that way but it's in there just the same. That's why I say I don't know how much longer I have to do models.

Dennis, Yes, take of your self, its something to ponder but, I have a friend that had crap happen to him all of his life just about with his health, and hes now going to be 80 in December! He's been through hell no less, but hes around and loving life....
Best advice I could give you, is, live today as tho it were your last, and play hard, like you are doing with the models, and since the time this all happened when you look back on it, it'll be 20 years. and then you'll wonder where it went. sure enough 2013 for me is just a blur due to the open heart surgery and meds I was on at the time, I'm better now as far as that goes, and not on the meds as I was....
I know its difficult to not think that way I catch myself doing it at times but, then to fullfill yourself with ideas on what to work on next, well goes along ways to take your mind off those other thoughts on it....You know what I mean, I know ya do.....
Thats the mind set you have to keep, is it easy? Hell no it isn't but, thinkin the other way will only waste the time you got left to nothing and just before it happens you'll be like why? and you'll then have lost all that time....Make use of whatever time you might have, and thats the best any one of us can do really....Sick, or not!
I'm sick, in the head maybe LOL but thats just my twisted sense of humor coming out......
