I was going to suggest blue or purple leads, should bring out the flip in the body, or go wild and use copper

LOL - I thought about copper, but with copper valve covers, you wouldn't notice them. The engine bay, being purple / bronze, (it changes color as well), Not to sure on using purple wires. The ones I have are more of a plum crazy type purple. I was considering to try and spray them the color I have on the seats though....

Went to start some work on the engine. I decaled the oil filter and installed As I was putting together the manifold, dist-coil-carb, I pulled from the tree the top of the air cleaner. Had to hold up here. The copper paint is just so soft, almost left a finger print. So I grabbed the future, and all copper painted chrome will dry over night, hopefully this will solve the handling issues

Finally, jumped back to the Del Ray - got some engine work done. Was not going to wire it, but then I thought of the tip from Stitch - and I cut some wires, and shrink wrapped them together. Will let this set up, touch up with paint, and lay the wires. Then it's on to some suspension and body work. Still have the decals to attack - gotta be in the right mood for that! LOL

You can do it bud. Once you get started, you get a pretty good rhythm of things.

Went to start applying the plug wires - (yep, I found purple! )
Then something strange hit me, and I suddenly had the nerve to see if my decals I made for the lower half of the body would work. The picture is of the New York skyline, after 9/11 - with the tower lights to the sky. This build I am dedicating to 9/11 - as some of you are aware, is a day deeply engrained into my soul. I got both sides cut to fit, (close anyways), worked out the air bubbles, then after they dried about an hour, I taped off the car, leaving only the decals showing and hit them with a coat of dupli-color clear "EFFEX". This gave them a sparkly effect, not sure I am pleased with them, BUT, I will have to snap a picture or 3 in the sun to see better for sure. I have another set made, so I can always lay another decal on top, but then again, it kind of gives a "grainy" look, like from an older picture I think. Maybe this would be a good contrast to the color changing rest of the car - of which will be HIGHLY polished.
Give me some honest opinions gang, like I said, I can re-decal on top of these and use plain old clear if you think it would be nicer. If not, the first wave of polish will begin, then the copper BMF, and a coat of clear to help the BMF tone down some to match better the rest of the copper chrome.

I like the way they look, they seem to be more part of the paint job, rather than a decal over it. Blends in to it you could say

Thanks John, hoping tonight or tomorrow, I will be able to sit down and start getting this thing done. Playing home nurse and Mr. Mom, well, sucks. I have dish pan hands, a sore lower back, and a headache, LOL But if it gets her better from her surgery, so be it! It will be all worth it in the end I know
