Well, it's opened. Thought about one way, then another, and yet another. Not sure what to do other than box stock.... I believe I an experiencing a serious case of "Builder's Block"

I may have a wild idea.... Not sure if I can do this though? ADMIN - YOUR CALL HERE....... Would this be allowed? About all that would be left of the Del ray would be the body? ?

Really you'd probably only want to use the leaf springs and axles and put them on the Delray frame.

Amazing as it may seem Jesse, the chassis from this monster truck kit fit as smooth as a glove in the Del Ray body - FREAKY WEIRD
But you are probably right, most likely wouldn't work out, not for me anyways, LOL
Hmmmm.... Back to my thinking cap.............

Even with the interior tub in the body? That is pretty incredible it fits though lol.

Like I told Jesse, the body is the main part of the body and you can hack it up as you wish. If you decide to use another kit j think you're going to make it tougher for you. I think Jesse is right recommending modifying just the leaf springs instead of the entire interior.

wow! that exact thought crossed my mind too Tom you gonna use the decals too? I thought about it, but I think I will just stick to box stock. You would be WAY better at adapting a monster truck build for this car Frank. Go for it my friend!! I think I was out of my skills set for trying something crazy like that, LOL

I was also thinking about doing the same thing lol Hey Mike - go for it bud. You do the monster truck thingy man. No way would I do a monster truck theme any justice. I will try this someday for a personal build maybe. For this eBay build, I am thinking box stock, with a neat-o paint job, and maybe some neat-o custom made decals... as Tommy Boy said...... "I've - Got - A - Plan" Sorta - Maybe.... smiley-scared002 I keep changing my goofy mind on this one, Lol

Not trying to speak for Ice but you can build your kit anyway you want. Even if more then one person picks the same genera the builds will be totally different. The main idea is to build what you think will sell on ebay.

The main idea is to build what you think will sell on ebay. Great point, Beast. If you want to win, you have to keep in mind what will get the most and highest bids. Take a look at "built models" on eBay. None the less, this is one of my favorite contests that we do here. We all get to see each builders vision. I always have a lot of fun with this one. Sorry about hijacking your thread CC. Carry on.... road-rage-smiley-emoticon

Finally pulled away from wrapping, packing, and shipping. phew-smiley-emoticon Went into the hobby room, was gonna set down at the NASCAR build, but with everyone making leaps and bounds on their eBay builds, I thought I should get to doing something. Inspected the sides, and sure enough, like most everyone else, the passenger side roof lines had some mold issues. So I tried to sand, and fix up the side, then got everything ready for some primer, and wouldn't you know it - no freakin primer! On top of that, I may have sanded the front edge of the roof line a touch much, and took away the mold line, grrr.... So, I turned the light off and planted my rear end in front of the Packers game. I will get some primer tomorrow at Wally World and we will see how bad it really is. I am thinking of a neat paint scheme - not gonna do the monster truck thing, that's just out of my league, gonna stick to building a good old fashioned, box stock 56 Del Ray BUT - the paint scheme - that I hope everyone likes - will post up pics once I get to that point Drivers side - good to go Passenger side - what the hell man? LOL After scraping and sanding.... Probably need a little more

I can't believe this many bad kits made it through Revell's QA. I'm sure you'll get it worked out Tom, you're a much better builder than you give yourself credit for!

Thanks Jesse - I know you are right, seems to be the "Norm" that this mold issue was on all the kits. Weird for sure. I will do my best though bud - LOL

What's this?? - CC Does What??
Primed ALL parts. I have decided on a paint scheme - going for something a little different, and something special. Gonna keep a lid on that for as long as I can TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR VIEWING - HA!! What I can divulge is the colors..... Black and Copper Hoping I can pull this off, if so, I will have to build me one for myself! But I do think it may get the bids on eBay, (if I can pull it off that is)
