Got a little question about the driveshaft on this, would this have a split driveshaft like on a semi or a one piece like on a car? and if it's split would it have some sort of support/bearing where the 2 join? I would use a split driveshaft with a carrier bearing at about the back of the cab. Thanks Jesse, I wasn't sure and was thinking 1 piece might not work at the length it would be

We had perfect weather to paint outside today, but I just couldn't find time during daylight to get it done. Just to get ahead on the interior I have decided to do most of it with flocking so I can brush paint it. I had intended to paint the door panels to match the body but now they will be black and blue, and the seats will be done to match. I will be bmf'ing the handles and winders before flocking. Hopefully by getting the interior done this way I can get on with fitting the suspension as I need the body on to get the front in the correct place. I would have held on and sprayed the interior panels but I need to make some space on the bench for the other ongoing builds, and to get another one started for a future motm.

Got the tailgate painted, went inside and had a coffee, returned ti it and found a scale 3d map of mountains. Hoping oven cleaner will fix it but if not I'm going to have to think of something else. The roof is now white but one corner needs some more flatting and a touch up due to some bits falling on it but at least it's savable without stripping.

I got the black on the interior done, need to do the blue on the interior now then I can start putting this together for the final time. I also glued the roof on just so I had some visable progress. EDIT: still need to touch up the corner of the roof and the tailgate will be going in brake fluid as oven cleaner just didn't touch the paint

The tailgate is nearly clean of paint. I would happily recommend fairy power spray. It's not as fast as oven cleaner from a tin, and needs a few goes at it, but it works on car paint, which oven cleaner didn't. I hope to be able to paint the tailgate again tomorrow. It also doesn't make me choke like oven cleaner does and can be washed in the sink unlike brake fluid. I hope this will be the last time I have to paint this tailgate, lol.

Finally I have got the tailgate painted. Also finished the flocking/embossing on the interior so in a couple of days once it's dry I can get it all put together. The end is in sight, woohoo! The bare section on the back of the tailgate is hidden below the bed so it will just be getting brushed in satin black, as the rest of the underside other than the frame is already satin black.

Thanks CC. Well the interior is mostly together and fitted, but as usual I forgot to paint the steering wheel. Not sure why I always forget it since it's rather important. The door panels look out of line just now but the cab will push them into place when it's on. The passenger seat is in the wrong place but will have to stay as the glue dried instantly when i lowered it into place and moving it will pull up the floor covering (I tried but stopped when it all started to move). I also added a carrier for the driveshaft but it still needs painted With any luck I'll have the suspension on tomorrow, then it's fitting the brakes, driveshaft and engine.

That interior is sharp. I forget the steering wheel often also. That's why it's hardly ever in my progress pics. Lol. And maybe the guys that sits in the back needs the legroom. Lol. I like this build. I'm glad you've stuck with it.

Got the cab on tonight. First fitting since putting the windows in, and the side windows wont let the cab sit where it's supposed to fit so my channel isn't as big as it was. This has led to a gap between the bulkhead and the floor, so I thought I would try the amt bulkhead for size and it isn't even close to fitting. I also changed engine as the alfa looked a bit puny with all that space around it. Have gone for one that was already built to save time, but it's not my work, other than a little reshaping of the exhaust manifold. Not able to get photos to upload just now so hopefully get them up later

Les, that is just bloody awesome mate, i just wish i came up with the idea.... The amount of work you have put in, and the mods you have done is well worth the effort, i know these customs fight you all the way, but with something that is going to look this cool, well worth it mate.. smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

Now finished. I would like to say that amt really need to do some work on the tailgate for their 60 fleetside kit. I assumed I would just be able to stick it on with no problems, how very wrong I was. 4mm wider than the gap for it? and the glass for the square tail lights while nicely moulded in red, was round, so I had to paint them on. If I had noticed that in the first place I would have grefted in the stepside lights. I also had to take out one of my side windows as it had lifted the paint, and I need to make an exhaust still, but for now it is off the bench, pics to follow soon in the completed threads
