You will get this bud - I know you will. You have come so far on a fabulous build, aint no paint gonna get in the way! Hang in there, shake it off, do 3 jumping jacks, open and close the front door 5 times, run in 3 circles, lick the passenger side door handle on the car, and "Poof" it will work out - I promise!! even one jumping jack and I'll dramatic-death

Got the fenders, hood and skirts painted and nice and shiny. Had to reprime the body as I must have got some bits on the wet n dry and found some fairly deep scratches all over it showed up when I painted it. I really hope this is the last painting on this now.

Perseverance buddy, these thing are done to us to test our strength, some we win, some we just kick the crap out of something.... but we never lose!!!!!! You got an awesome custome there buddy, and it will be well worth the effort to paint the bugger a third time, just don't let anybody else in the shed...

The shed is padlocked now and I have the only key. The body I am going to let sit for the rest of the day and flat again tonight as it got even worse with the primer on. Might flat it back to the first coats of primer this time then be starting fresh. I've lost all the edges around the front and back windows with all the painting so no foil on this body.I think it was probably too soon after painting caused it is my thinking now, rather than bits on the wet n dry.

Attempt no. 4 going to happen. Have attacked it with p120 and removed all paint. If it goes wrong again it's meeting a size 10 and becoming a sedan. Not chopped or sectioned but I have tried the body and it fits. My internet is dropping out today so cant upload pics but will when I get it working again

fingers crossed, used plastic sealer 3 coats with 15 mins between as it said on the tin, filler primer from the same brand and if it reacts this time it's gone and will be changed for a sedan body and interior tub. Thoroughly hacked off with this now but I want to get it finished. Had to forget a lot of bits I wanted to do but painting it is killing my enthusiasm for this one, but a plan is afoot...

looks like it might work this time. No scratch looking reactions in the primer but I have lost all the trim lines from the windows and the door lines are gone so will be doing them after paint is finished with a soft pencil (b)

So here's the pics of what happened to the primer. And this is it after I attacked it with p120 and worked my way to P1200 wet n dry. It's now all primed again and while there are some tiny scratches I think/hope it should be ok now

I know it's of no use now, but it looks like it went on too thick, or the first coat was not dry enough when you put the next coat on heavy. BUT, i could be wrong too,, i really like this body, with all the mods, so i hope it turns out mate.

you will get it. it's deserving.
...and I say this with the upmost respect... I am glad to see someone else is having difficulty painting. I thought I was the only one. 1 have done a 64 thunderbolt 4 times. finally got the paint to lay down nice, now I am afraid to clear it. don't give up, you will get it!!! I promise.

It's finally red, not as nice as the first paintjob was before I dropped it, but much better than all the other attempts have been. Now back to the chassis and interior as I have been neglecting them while trying to sort the paint so hopefully this will be finished in time now.
