Since I have no less than (3) of these newer versions, also have a couple of the older versions, and multiple 1/25 scales - I thought I better build at least one of them! This one is brand new and sealed - Yeah Baby!! I will probably stick to box stock, adding additional small tid bits here and there, but not positive on the paint scheme though thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon I may go for a different paint scheme and acquire some other 1/16 decals, hmmmm........

Ripped the cellophane clean off like a kid in a candy store to reveal the beauty within... Spread out on the "2nd" bench I have for inspection - yup, the misses is mad, I moved her off it, but she loves me anyways, LOL O....M....G This thing is MASSIVE!!! And yep - that's a 1/25 Charger funny car to compare with, (she is in line for decals very soon) Will clean, sand and prep, then prime with the white. After wet sanding the primer, will then apply several light coats of the chrome - wet sanding between coats. Then some light coats of the Tamiya clear blue until I get just right. Will probably clear coat with future before AND after decals. Not sure if I want to throw on some color effects clear or not, I think the chrome/silver base and the clear blue should do the trick. I will do a test spray on a white NASCAR body I have, but I think this may look pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this. Your plan for painting sounds like it should work out quite nicely.

Well, I should be mowing this morning, BUT I am being lazy for a Sunday. And we are gonna basically chill in the a/c for the day. Sooooo - it's time I get to spraying some paint! I opted for universal chrome by dupli-color instead of the fancy chrome paint from Hobby Lobby. Got a couple coats laid, will let this breathe a bit, wet sand, and apply a couple more of the universal chrome, before we give this a coat of color effex clear. Then I will have to mask off the bumpers, window trim, etc before the transparent blue coats. Also gonna get parts flat black - gloss black, etc-etc. AND gonna hit ALL the chrome with some Tamiya smoke!

Appreciate that Frank and Mike. Yeah, kind of excited about this engine, and the paint, well, next up, translucent blue, then the color effects clear Cross your fingers, have no clue what this will turn into - LOL.
You never know, I may breaking out some good old fashioned, plain old blue to cover it all up - but I hope not!

That paint looks awesome bud, a chrome funny car would look cool too, but the tran-blue will look spot on aswell.

I know what you mean there DC - I have thought about that. I know though, once the clear hits it, it goes from a shiny chrome look to an aluminum look. So thinking to stick with trying the translucent blue, we will see....
Worst case. I will acquire a bigger log for the plastic fire with that Evil 66 nova someday - running-around-smiley-emoticon

Masked out the bumpers, and applied 2 coats of Tamiya Translucent Blue. Not too bad, but I am thinking one more light coat, just to make it a touch darker - will let this breathe a day or two and decide once I can inspect it in the sunshine
