Man, you guys have no idea how good it feels to be back at the bench! I didn't think it through. I packed my tools first so of course it was one of he last boxes to unpack. But this morning, I unpacked my blades, saws and sanding sticks. Anyways, so I don't want to bore you anymore with that. To the business at hand. I was looking at everyone's builds and they are all so great. From HalfBreed being finished, to Highway Star's AWB Nova to Beasts crazy build and everyone else in between. Great job so far everyone. I've lost almost a month so I won't have time to do that many mods but I hope this one does stand out a bit. I had to chop some part of it as well so I though "Why not the whole top?" So that's exactly what I did. Here are some pics of where the body is at. First pic was right after the chop before the clean up. Not sure if these will be the rims. As I continue to unpack I know I have a few more I will test out.

It's like we just swapped places. Lol. Packing is easy, bud. Unpacking is what sucks.
Thanks for the compliment on this one. We'll see how it ends up.

Very nice bud - so cool you guys can chop and cut and change like this. Convertible is a pretty cool idea - just know this will be great! Glad to see you back at the bench - I myself gotta get back there as well, hoping later today I can do just that - cant wait for more updates, for sure this will be awesome!

GB and Ice, you too just "swap" homes did ya? Thats kinda cool?!!!!
I've been thinking of a '70 Super Bee R/T Convertible, BUT I have to find the top down "cover" that goes behind the rear seats, AND onto the body for such... A ways off till I start that one tho!
Nice work tho Ice! The car ought to look good "top down".....GREAT to see, your back at the bench!

Nice to see you back at the bench..
Convertible looks pretty cool, nice job of cutting...
Take it you are going Pro Touring instead of Pro Street ?? Cool idea. Nova has nice body style for Convertible..

Thanks guys. I might go with the pro touring look, Tom. Still not sure on the wheels. Stock also crossed my mind but with being away from the bench for so long makes me want to do a paint job out of the ordinary. Still tossing ideas. I guess it'll depends on the engine I build too

That will look AWSOME as a vert, did one 20 years ago, and still think it looks cool enough to not rebuild it. The bonus with this build, is the rear is already tubbed, so sitting it nice and low will not need much in the way of mods, and a big set of wheels will look great. Paint, I reckon go for it mate, an all out job will really make the whole effect work. Now you got back into it, there will be no stopping you now.

Thanks Beast and Frank. The boot is an old 1964 boot. I think Pegasus used to make it or Hoppin Hydros.

Looking good Ice! A convertible, cool! Glad to see your build area is up and going again. I'm sure it feels good to be able to get back to building, I know I have been missing my time at my bench with everything going on lately. Like the gold. It looks great. Not sure about the red stripe yet, maybe a rootbeer, or charcoal, or black/satin black? Just thinking out loud.

Convertible looks great..
Like the Gold a lot..Maybe add more color stripes with the Red to help make it a little more striking. just my 1.5 cents...The boot fits good on the car....

Thanks guys. Good feedback all around. I can see what you guys mean about the red stripe. Still haven't figured out the interior. I think if the interior doesn't off set it the stripe I'll come back to the body and add more or redo the whole thing. Since the top will be down the interior needs to go with it. Speaking of the top down, do you guys think that painting the boot red will work?

love the top down, and I love the inca gold , I think it you did a red interior with a semi-gloss red on the boot, it'd tie it in and look sweet.

I would have to go along with 60sera on the boot and nix the red, even if you do red interior. Red interior might help tie the stripe in, but I would have to see it. Sounds like a good idea to try. There is enough time to change the interior and stripe if it doesn't work out.

I don't know, the boot may be good red, really all depends on how much red you utilize inside

When you guys talk about the "boot", are you talking about the convertible roof cover thing?? as a boot down here is what you call the trunk.?? If so, I reckon do it a red along with pretty well most of the interior, with maybe a gold dash and console, maybe some gold inserts for the door trims?? I am sort of thinking out loud here as if it were my own build mate, just my thoughts, it's looking great though.
