I had to chuckle to myself tonight, the alternator on this is on the gearbox tailshaft! And since it is completely hidden between the 2 chassis parts (alu inner and carbon outer) I guess I wont have to add that detail and will have a little extra space for the spaghetti.

Made a little more progress tonight but I'm going to have to rethink the induction as it comes out in the wrong place. I think the next version will have to go between the loops of the turbo exhausts and then back up to get it where I need it to be.

Spaghetti , pasta...... it all looks great mate, but yes, confusing also. It took me for ever to work it out on my Del Rio wagon, thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon but will be worth the effort when you have a masterpiece under the hood at the end of it all.
Coming along nicely mate..

Well now the rugrats have gone back home I got a little time to do some more on this. Turns out even after measuring I didn't narrow the rear enough but managed to take enough out of the brakes and rear suspension to make it work. I made a start on the front then but I just can't take enough out to get the wheels inside the arches, even with using some stupidly cambered tyres and narrowing the suspension as much as possible so that was a load of wasted time. I'm hoping I can just swap the entire front end from the revell beretta pro street and still have the engine fit since it will be staying no matter what. If anyone has a better suggestion please feel free to share as I wont be cutting the front off until I find the beretta parts just in case they're awol. The narrowed front end that needs another 3mm taken out but no where to remove it from, the right has been narrowed, the left is still stock

Dude - you are SO way ahead of me on this type of customizing, but I know you will figure something out, you always do. Amazing stuff here, if it was me, it would have hit the wall a long time ago!

If I'd looked around before I cut the front suspension up, I have a similar set of wheels which would have most likely fit but it's too late now, lol. I like the ones on it better anyway

Can you move the upper/lower wishbones in a tad more mate? like sitting them on top of the chassis rail ?? Another option maybe, removing some material from the wheel backs where the axles go into them??

Another option maybe, removing some material from the wheel backs where the axles go into them?? The wheels are too thin already to remove anything from, and the moving the wishbones would just leave a mm or 2 of wishbone. At least if I swap to the beretta front I can go back to the original tyres instead of the cambered ones.

Found whats left of the beretta kit and it looks like it will work and let me use the original brakes. I might have to widen it a little to get the engine in though. I also have to repaint the front wheel arches as I wrecked the paint while trying to make space for the wheels. I still have to fix the rear where the paint lifted so it's no big deal. Seves me right for painting it first I suppose

You're doing some fine work here Les. That's one bad ass looking engine.

So the lower front of the beretta is now on the skyline and has given me enough room for the wheels to fit as I want. The beretta front was longer than the calibra one so I cut it off at the start of the tube, and then cut notches in the sides of the gearbox tunnel so there was more than just 2 dots holding it in place. In the last pic you can see the first upper tube fitted after a bit of trimming and I've also figured out how I can use the calibra struts at the front with a little bit of modding. I can ditch the cambered tyres and save them for the rice rocket build next year. Then I painted up the last of the engine bits but it reacted and left me having to strip them, which is where the baking soda evaporated so they need refilled now, however I had pinned them so I dont have to rebuild them from scratch. The 2 suspensions side by side The beretta front on the calibra chassis Cleaned up and the first upper on (the uppers aren't glued at the bottom yet as I need to split the upper and lower to get the engine in but there is room(just)) And the offensive (mainly for the words I used) paint

Is it possible that just a small area of the body could have some sort of dodgy plastic that paint wont stick to? I've flatter and repainted the rear wing three times noe and the exact same bit lifts every time the colour goes on

Cheers guys, well I finally got the paint to stick to the rear wing but the colour match isn't too great. It will have to do though as I'm sick of flatting and spraying it, 4 attempts at it! phew-smiley-emoticon
