Cheers guys, I'm actually kinda pleased the kit engine was so poorly done now. I'm getting closer to cutting the rear end up for narrowing now, I had a bit of a think and figured I would be best getting each side of the front and rear suspension together before I did any cutting to make sure I trimmed the right amount out. So tonight I finished off painting the brakes and assembled the parts ready for the next stage. I might have to narrow the front a touch as well but it wont need the chassis cut. I've also decided I want the wheels to be removable so I left the little rubber bits out of the brakes as I don't want to snap the pins from the wheels since they are resin. I've also repainted the engine in the body colour but it's come out a darker shade of brown. Once I get the chassis narrowed I can get back on the engine as I'll know exactly how much space I have. Brakes and suspension parts assembled, the centres of the rotors are done in blue but those pics didn't come out well The wheels and tyres finished, much more dish on the rears The repainted engine

Looking great Les, i like the color combo, and those wheels will really set this off. Bugger on the paint lift, i had the same thing happen on the Superbird, just block the edges back before you fix it, and you will never know. I also use heat shrink covered wire for some pipe work and hoses, also solder works very well too.
Keep at it mate, looking REAL SWEET..

Thanks guys. Deecee I have tried using solder but I just cannot seem to get the superglue(CA) to keep a grip, it always falls apart within a few hours so wire and heat shrink is my next best option. I don't know why it won't hold but it may be down to the only type I can get having the flux/tinning agent as part of it. But for this engine the heatshrink might be better anyway but getting solder to work would be handy

I got the rear end narrowed tonight. I started by test fitting the suspension to see how much it needed narrowing which was 6mm each side. I like how low it's going to be though, the body is just sat on the un-narrowed suspension here but the chassis is at the height I missed out some pics while working on it but here is how I narrowed the rear. I started by cutting it off at the front edge of the wheel wells, before using 2 strips of 3mm tape to mark each cut. I then glued the rear back together without the 2 strip, and used lolly sticks and clamps to keep it all square. This is after removing for pics but they are back on now. And viola, it's back in one piece but needs a couple of days to set before I attempt cleaning it up for paint. Then it was on to the lower chassis which was a lot easier since it was flat I hope I've narrowed it enough now but if not I can take more width out of the brake mounts as they are quite wide. If need be I also have some cambered tyres I can use to bring the tops of the wheels in further

Did a little work to prepare the engine for fuel pipes and wiring. I also cut out one of the computers from the removed floor part to use on the ignition/spark plugs which each have 2 wires so I have drilled the holes in the valve covers and computer to suit. In the first pic you can see the fuel distribution block added to the engine, in the second is the throttle bodies which I have also drilled for the fuel lines and the final is the computer. I hope to finish off the fuel system tomorrow and get the wires on the engine but cant finish them off until the engine is fitted as the computer has to be fixed to the firewall first and the wires have a few other parts to be fitted around, such as the steering and brake system(still need to figure out the brakes though as they would be different from road cars so hopefully I will find something in the box or my broken alfa kit) I'm going to try and make the induction set up removable to show the fuel lines in this part^

Got the injectors made, fitted and plumbed this afternoon. I will have to drill out the fuel block holes a little more before this part gets fitted to the engine though as I need to put some tiny bits of red wire sleeve in, and I only drilled it to fit the bare green wire. The whole piece is half the size of my thumb nail, and they can barely be see n anyway. Hope to get the rest done tonight

Cut the front of the chassis to fit tonight, found a radiator to fit in the parts box and tried it along with the intercooler and turbos in the engine bay. It's going to be a tight fit once all the pipework is added. I think I'll start by doing the exhaust pipes first so I can have the turbos in place for the induction side. There's going to be 6 lots of pipes in this engine bay when the radiator is counted. So that's turbo exhaust, turbo exhaust inlet, turbo outlet, turbo air inlet, oil coolers and radiator pipes to fit, probably going to look like a plate of spaghetti when it's all in there

I could read this at work, but had no pics, so was wondering all day what was going on, now i'm home, WOW!!! cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon
That is a serious amount of wires going on there Les, and with all the plumbing you need to add, this will look killer !!

Got one turbo mounted tonight, I had to drill out the exhaust and turbo and put some cut down pins in to hold it as it kept falling off. Starting to think I should have stuck with all the race parts instead of the turbos, lol. I'm hoping it won't be too much bother getting the second one at the same height, then it's onto the exhaust out from the turbos which should be easier as long as I leave space for the front driveshafts which will be between the 2 exhaust parts

Twin turbo's can be testing mate, but worth it in the end though.. Try putting something under the turbo, like a peg, or half of one, that way you can get the other one the same height.

Cheers guys, I used your hint too Deecee, worked a treat. So much so that both lots of the exhaust parts are now made but needing paint before fitting. I cut up some camaro side pipes for the lower end and did a lot of sanding to thin down the straight parts. Again it's all pinned as well as glued so I can do a little more work on them. For the moment I've left each end a little longer so I have somewhere to hold them for painting.
