yea , that was the problem with one of those deals I had that fell threw in Florida. We had worked a deal for twenty models at 16 each, I was willing to do it as I had no intentions of reselling ( reselling of course I would have needed to get them cheaper so I could sell them )Then when I got down there he tells me he now has 75 models and he wants 1200.00 for them all ! I told him that not all of those were collectable or even popular byt you would not budge I got him down to 1000.00 but that was way to much. I just saw an ebay posting for a hand made paper airplane 1200.00 buy it now - description was just that a hand made paper airplane. He claimed he wanted to hike across Europe and need the money for a ticket.... he also promised to send a post card !!

I agree 100% on that note.. I hate people who try to drain the paycheck modelers for their pockets.

Holy *#*&@!! $1200 for a paper airplane. To think I threw away so many hand-made paper air planes. Collectibles?

I'm on the same page as you Iceman about that subject. Some people think they are selling the one and only mythical unicorn or something. Like those ten truck kits, most would be cool to get. But really? They're all open, the boxes are worn, and he won't guarantee they are complete, and then asks that ridiculous price. The least the greedy toad could do is offer free shipping. They are of no use to the collector, and as builders too expensive. The same thing goes on in the 1:1 collector car market, especially with the Vettes. They see one sell at Barret Jackson and automatically think theirs is worth the same. Or theirs needs restoring but because after a $150K restoration it might be worth $125K so theirs is worth $75K as a rough barn find. OK, I'm done now. I relinquish the soap box to the next commentator.

That NASCAR didnt even show any detail shots, nothing of the motor or the interior yet 27 bids totaling 105.00 is there something here I dont know about? Not all e bay deals are bad. I get alot of great stuff at great prices ( a specially at 3am ) I prefer when I am traveling like I did to Florida just recently. I will place an ad in the craigslist of the city I am going to , letting them know I am coming and that I buy unwanted plastic. Built or unbuilt , one or a whole collection. I will run these ads for a week or two before I leave and in most cases I have meetings already set up before I get there. then I just collect my purchases and fill a large suitcase for the ride home ( or ship ups ).

Cool! A hamster coffin. It's on sale right now too for $15K, what a deal. Wish they had two of them then I might be interested. I like the art work too. What is that supposed to be, the hamster version of Nosferatu?

Not sure what the hamster coffin has to do with car models. Nice plug, JP. Sneaky I might add. Not outrageous by the way. Great looking build.

Not sure what the hamster coffin has to do with car models. Iceman, I build in the hamster style of model arts. Would that help make it relevant? Crouching Hamster Hidden Gerbil, awful movie.

oh, oh, oh, Found another one. Well it's not as bad as some, maybe it is about right, I don't know. Would have to research it. BUT, I remember this car from the early seventies when I was around 7 or 8. The Pink Panther. I even had a baseball style collector card of it, in a collection of cards I had of show cars, like the Boot Hill Express, etc.. Anyway I think this would be a cool one to build, I just don't think it's $150 + shipping cool though. www.ebay.com/itm/The-Pink-Panther-California-Show-Car-Model-Kit-Doyusha-Japan-1-25th-Scale-Mint-/251328130281?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3a8452ece9

Funny you should mention it. I just looked at that box I have for that custom s-10 last night. Let me think about it this weekend to see if I'm going to build it or not. Then maybe I can send you the parts and put the custom body on eBay........at an outrageous price. Lol. Just kidding. Will start it at $.99

I have a buddy who collects some pretty pricey die casts and I know he pays $100 to $200 for them. So maybe this guy isn't too crazy, but he sure has a lot of those Cadzilla 1/24 cars. I have one of those and would be very tempted to sell it for what he's asking if there was a buyer at that price. I think I paid $25 or $35 for mine, still in the box with a title and a 1/64 companion car. I think they were issued by Hot Wheels.
