It feels good to get back on the bench. Instead of working on the Ebay Challenge kit, I'm going to start yet another project. smiley-confused005
I've been wanting to build a traditional hot rod. I want to try and make it period correct so I will be asking for some help, if you don't mind.
I've never built this kit but I have stolen engine parts from it various times. To help with the look, I'm going to use louvered panels from Ed Fluck. Believe it or not, these parts are the sole inspiration for the build. I've been wanting to use them for a while now.

I too have a 36 Ford coupe project going that will be a traditional late 40s custom,it has the early 60s chopped top and fender skirts along with the custom grill and smooth hood sides. I am using the flipper hubcaps and Desoto bumpers from the 40 sedan delivery kit and most likely flathead from a 40s kit,I picked up another kit to use the convertible parts on for a traditional convertible hotrod.

Nice! Hope you share it here too. The repop kit has those same hubcaps from the pictures. Although it won't be an exact replica, I'll try to keep close to it. I have resin Desoto bumpers that I will use as well.

The first 36 coupe kit I got was shown to be a stocker only but had some of the optional hotrod parts, did some scrounging and found the early 60s hotrod/custom and convertible parts too but have since found out the latest issue has all those parts. I will post pics when I get back on it but now into some restoration projects I started over 20 years ago that need to be finished.

Thank Paul and Tom. Just finished testing some colors. Trying to decide which way to go.... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon If this was your kit and these were the only paints you had, which would you choose? (Please use the voting poll)

Some amazing work here Ice. I really like the louvers and wheels. Your engine work is really good. I would like to do fuel lines and linkage like that. RMCM parts are nice aren't they?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the workds. Dale - the nuts are #1 (.20) fittings from Detail Master. Dennis - I love their stuff. I'm pretty stocked up with lots of engine goodies from them. Jesse - thanks for the info. I had seen the setup and saw a few different ways the lines were run. I was going for something a little different sort of like the picture below. I just didn't run the lines all the way to the tip of the carb like I should've. But let me ask you this, and be honest, if the lines can be shaped to different directions, would I be able to join them all in the middle like I did or is that not possible? Obviously the lines would need to all go to the correct side as well.

Joel, I don't see any reason you couldn't have a single fuel block in the center to feed all six carbs, but I might make the line coming from the fuel pump to the fuel block a little larger than you did here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking your work. I just think as good of a builder as you are, you could make your builds much more realistic/accurate. I hope that all made sense? Lol.

Tom - it stands for Replicas & Miniatures Company of Maryland. Their stuff is great. So clean. Shoot him an email for a current catalog. Then you just give him a call or email him back the order form. Here's the email: replmincomd@aol.com
Jesse - Thanks. That does help. I see what you mean about accuracy. I will change the fuel line to math the others. I did think about that when I was adding it. It only makes sense.

I'm not sure I would change what you have done, unless you really feel the need lol. I would just keep it in mind for the next one if it was me.
