This Corvette has a lot of sentimental value to me, a friend stuck it together when he was dying from cancer, he gave me all his kits before he passed away, on 1 condition, DO THEM JUSTICE!! I have only ever built 1 large scale kit before, another one of his, so this will be a challenge, as i have no spare parts to fall back on, so everything should be out of the box, but i have a plan for the wheels, not sure if it will work, but i will try something different anyway. Here is what i plan on building as of the 1st of July. It has been painted black, which will need to be stripped, and the rest of it was build standard, so wont be too bad to resurrect i hope.

Nice choice. I'm very curious what you put together. I know box stock is not something you do.

This is gonna be awesome to see what you do with this - and no doubt, JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!!
I would not concern yourself with wheels, shoot DC, you could have little scale concrete blocks for wheels and you would figure out a way to make it awesome!

Well....i am way behind on this build guys, i have not started as i wanted to see what wheels / tyres i ended up with before i pulled the trigger on which way to go. Glad i waited, i was going to go pro-street/drag style, but could not get the right tyres for the rear. I went and saw a good mate who has soooo many bits and pieces, and these looked like a pretty great set of tyres, but really change up the pro style i was going with. Now, i need to make some wheels to set these guys off, so the original centre lines, which are not wide enough, and a set of "other" wheels, which i will use the centreline outer dish. onto the other wheel, so hopefully i will end up with something different, and very tough too. And yes Mike, way lots of room for paint.... Going with this idea, the wheels will sit way out side the fenders, so i just might have to widen those fenders, kind of like a GT/ GRAND AM/ SPORTS SEDAN road race style..... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Nice combo effect for those rims - and hey, if those big ole fatties stick out past the fenders, so be it - it's legal here where I come from!

Thanks mate, but you know me, if they stick out, i just have another part to modify....... smiley-scared002 Question please guys, i have hacked up a set of wheels, but also stumbled across 2 solutions, i would really appreciate you guys input on which way to go, but remember, this is going to be one fat, animal street racing style Vette, so i need the right wheel for it. #1 : modern looking centre with a bit of dish, the band will need to be painted as the chrome is not real good. #2: The original vette centre, with dish..

I like the modern style but they would need to be a little bigger for my taste. Do you have any plastic pipe to upsize them like you did on your 40 delivery?

The black center is actually a bigger diameter, but i am limited by the Tyre, and chrome trim, being large scale, i have nothing to work with unfortunately, but thanks for the input mate, it gives me something more to think about now. thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon EDIT:: I just went back in the room and found something, ( another set of wheels) that i might be able to at least give them more offset, so they are wider on the car..... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon evil6

OK!! The wheels are done, i used the rear band on the front, and made another spacer for the rear, now they have serious street cred. As you can see, they poke out of the guards a little bit, so, most of the time i would move them inboard, pro street/touring style, but NOT THIS TIME....... I have never tried flared guards like this before, but why not start now..!!
