Flickr doesn't let you just post pics anymore. It always links it back to their website according to their guidelines. All I use is flickr. There should be a share button then you need the BB code and just copy and paste. Works for me lol

Thanks folks, should be some more pics up soon. Just a little cleaning up of the boxing to do now, then a wee bit of filler for this end.

Thankyou, I've started to sdd back a little length to the front frame rails but no pics yet. I had cut a little too close to the rear of the front suspension mount to be able to join the two ends together. I will probably box the front rails before i cut the piece for the front z. I am learning so much more than I ever imagined from this build but I'm nearly at the more enjoyable bit, as while the chassis is important, the body is where you'll see it progress more. I'm hoping the body will come together a little faster than the frame(other than a lot of filling) but then there is always the difficulty of getting the two sides to match. Going to be cutting up a lot of cereal boxes for this as my profile gauge I bought is garbage and wont hold the shapes. Should have some pics of the completed frame up later and of the extension that has to be fitted. I can feel that little tingle of excitement at being onto the body soon(well I hope its excitement). Also I saw a tip on one of the forums about cutting left over styrene into bits and leaving in glue to melt for use as filler, but I haven't been able to find it again, anybody know what brand of glue I should use as the tip I saw said the chemical name and a lot of the glues I find locally don't mention this key detail. Fingers crossed you can help and thanks for reading

well I just could not get started tonight. All I managed to get done was to finish boxing the front end but when it came to attaching them together it just wasn't coming to me. I have flipped the front axle to the top of the springs since otherwise the rails would have been higher than the wings. I also added some temporary crossmembers to keep it square and if you look closely at the mid rail in the pics you will see it has a slight bend to it. This is due to something moving while the glue was setting overnight yesterday so the parts for joining were not going to be square. Again this is another reason to scratch build a frame next time. Since I didn't get as far as I wanted tonight I had a little look at the body on the frame to give me some motivation tommorow. If you see the fender that is sitting on the rear wheels you will see I have stretched it a little more as I felt it would look a little better. I also tried a old trailer bed on it but it was just to see what sort of bed to have. At the moment I am veering towards a low sided pick up bed or trailer hitch. When I get a start on the front fenders it turns out i won't be going coe style after all but will have to raise them to cover the wheels, even after dropping the suspension as much as I could. I think I may end up going in the direction of a 6 wheeled Rod and Custom dream truck. I think for looks I may also fill the centre window of the cab back as no matter what way I go it will look out of place with any bed style. Anyway here's a couple of pics of the rough mock up and the fenders will be going like those in pic 2 but lower sides and skirts made from a pair of small scale plane wings. Thanks for reading folks and hopefullt tommorow I will manage to get more done. Any ideas for the bed style will be appreciated but not necessarily used (this time)

you're really movin along on this Stitch, great work thus far what about a sleeper and 5th wheel for the bed?

I dont think a sleeper would work since the fenders are going to be above the window, and theres not much space behind the cab but I'm guessing a 5th wheel is the American term for a trailer hitch (semi trailer/artic). That may happen but I only have a fridge trailer and I may have another use for it. If it is a semi hitch you mean that would probably wotk quite well, but it would have to be kustom too, thinking airstream style 2 car trailer now. Oh you've got me thinking now..... also got the frame finally together after making a very basic table to hold it straight which can be seen in the pics. Its not cleaned up but it is glued and straight now so body work to do now. Its got to be simpler than the frame has been (famous last words, lol) although the frame is straight(after a lot of effort and cursing) it doesn't look it in the pics

knarf, just took some pics with the trailer I already have. It may be overkill to use it, rofl, but it does show how much lower it is. The cab isn't much smaller than the original one was!!

oops meant to be this one If you look closely the 5th wheel is the same height as the window top. Kustom trailer it is...

That would work, and I think I have enough parts left for a shorter one. The other idea you inspired was a chopped tanker trailer.

Stitch, I love this little car trailer: 2 axles, and needing a tongue, but thats ok.........NICE! Can be pulled by a regular ole pick up truck!

Well I finally got a start on the body of it tonight. I canibalised a custom corvette body I had for most of the curves, and the roof from the original kenworth body. When I was cutting the pieces i needed to get the rough shape I cut the piece for the other fender at the same time but not glued it yet. Hopefully this will help with the second one as each piece cut was halved from the centre of each part. Fingers crossed it works, and I have left some extra on the inside that will be trimmed off later, so the rear quarter panel from the corvette won't be staying on, but is kinda useful for holding to glue the rest

The pictures don't show it but there is a curve to every piece and it arches up in the centre

Thats nearly my entire stash in the background, only missing my 3 tamiya beetles, a heller citroen 4cv, a couple of Revell VW samba vans, a 1/12 57 that is missing most parts but I was given free and a 1/16?(possibly lindberg) model a rat rod truck that will be built some day but not for a while yet.

And I have that nova in the background in the parts box since most of the suspension got lost. Was that the one with the twin highrise manifold through the hood/bonnet?

Thats ok I'm going to do a rebuild in it at a later date. Got a viper frame and engine that looks like it will fit quite well and a viper is to late a body style for me. Think I'll still leave all the decals and paint on mine alone though. think it's in the background of one of the pics (it's yellow)

I forgot to do an update yesterday but to see where I have got to you just need to flip the fender pic. Will have a lot more progress later today. I'm onto the front fenders now, having to widen them about 30mm each side and lengthen about 50mm. More happy with it now as I am seeing progress now and it actually looks like its getting somewhere.
