Hey everyone. Not sure how many are interested, but Don (Wisdonm) brought his to my attention and thought it was good enough to share. Steve Scott has been working on re-releasing the Uncertain T kit for a bit. I know he's sold tshirts before and they were pretty good quality. Not the same as a kit but the preorder prices are pretty good. I know Don ordered some and I did as well. Here's the link in case you're interested www.uncertaintmodelkits.com/store.html#!/c/0/offset=0&sort=normal I've read both good things and bad things about this on other forums. Neither Don or I know if this is a scam or a guarantee that this will go through as planned Just wanted to share so you can read and make your own decisions. Prices are good, tough, in my opinion.

So is this the Steve Scott that built the original 1:1 back in 1965ish?
I didn't see anything on there about a release date or anything related to that. If this is the real Steve Scott he's gotta be pretty old by now lol. I guess I just question if the kit will actually be produced or if he'll just make a nice chunk of cash on a promise and never provide.
I'll keep an eye on it though and if he does or has made some kits I'll jump on one or two lol.

I should read more before I post lol. This is the real Steve Scott that built the real Uncertain T. I preordered one and if/when I get it I'll buy a second to build.
I was number 118, what number were you Ice?

Mine either. I got an email saying my order number is 118 lol. If this gets produced, which it sounds like it will, it should be a dynamite kit being designed and built by the guy that built the 1:1.
If they get done and I buy a second kit to build and the quality is good, might have to have someone resin cast the nailhead and hilborn injection for other projects.
How many did you order Ice? Just one or a couple?

I have order number 114 and I did get a few If they come out as great or even close to the 1:1, they should be great. I think kits a good investment. Worst case scenario if I don't like the way they look towards the end, he did offer money back, so we'll see.
I don't have FB, I was telling Don, so anyone that wants to keep an eye on work, I'd appreciate any updates.

Very cool! It really would be nice to pick up at least one or two of these. I really shouldn't, but I am seriously thinking about it.

Steve Scott just posted this on his Facebook group... UNCERTAIN-T PREMIER MODEL KITS UPDATES: Wed, 10/29/14, 2:30pm: At the suggestion and recommendations of 2 Facebook Friends who use these programs all the time in their jobs, I've decided to use the 3D CAD program, SketchUp, to recreate all The Uncertain-T model kit parts for making prototype parts. I downloaded and installed it this morning.
They also suggested that if SketchUp doesn't let me do everything I want to do with the 3D CAD designs for creating my prototypes, to check out AutoCAD. I did, and learned that they offer their excellent Pro version for only $5/month. That's very affordable, and I can import all the work I've already done with SketchUp.
I didn't get much sleep last night so I wasn't very fit and ready to begin learning how to use SketchUp, so I went back to bed. I slept another hour or so, but I don't feel very good. Even so, I'm going to dig into learning it after I have lunch because I'm so excited about this project. After all... I've been thinking about it for almost 50 years! TODAY this project finally actually begins! Wish me luck!

A bit sketchy. Has anyone read anything else on this guy and his plans?

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think yet lol. Yesterday he posted he needed a complete original issue Monogram kit to use for scaling and assembly purposes. I'm still kinda skeptical about him getting this done, especially in the time frame he mentions on his store site. Only time will tell I guess.

Yeah. Lol. I bought four kits and I'd hate to lose the money all in all, know what I mean. But if he comes through, it's a great investment.

I saw that, he finally updated the registry. I know what you mean about the money, but I figure there's much worse things I could've spent $25 on lol. I sure hope he does come through and it sounds like he has a couple good model builders to help him through this.

Here's a few things mister Scott has posted on Facebook... MY STATUS: Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, 2 p.m., Hawaii Time: I'm having another "rough" day. I spent most of the afternoon and early evening yesterday on a doctor and errands trip down to Hilo. I was eager to discuss my recent findings with the doctor, that the many severe headaches and other not nice symptoms often seem to go away when I drive down the volcano from my location at 3,000 ft, to Hilo that's essentially at sea level; and that they often start up again as I reach about the 2,000 ft level driving home, and that the most significant relief I've had so far is from the allergy symptom relief ingredients in over-the-counter cold caps from Walmart (generic, cheap DayQuil). I asked him if he's heard of anything like this related to plants or other environmental conditions in this area. He uninterestedly said, "sure... maybe you should move away".
Huh? Then why didn't he suggest this as part of the MANY lab tests and 2 CAT scan sessions, appointments with him and expensive migraine meds that he's had me go through and pay for?! From that point on, he seemed to have no interest whatsoever in my situation! This REALLY bummed me out and put me into a semi-depressed state that I still haven't gotten rid of! I really need to shake this depression off so I can get back to getting important stuff done, especially watching the MANY SketchUp 3D CAD design tutorial videos that I stayed up all night downloading night before last. I INSTANTLY knew the answer... he doesn't make any money with simple, straight forward diagnoses that he can't charge more for! Guess what list he now holds a prominent position on! Yep... it's definitely time to find a new doctor!
Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, 3 a.m.: A headache and feeling lousy started late afternoon yesterday. By 9 p.m. I had to go to bed because it was just too difficult to do anything. It took me about an hour or so to fall asleep. I woke up a few times, then unable to sleep at all from about 1 a.m. Since I feel about 50% better, I decided to get up and work. I haven't felt good enough to do much about learning how to use SketchUp, the 3D CAD program for creating MY OWN Uncertain-T Premier model kit parts, and the tutorial that comes with it isn't very good, so the main thing I'm going to work on is to search for much better, more comprehensive tutorials, in hopes of fast tracking my designs.
Monday, Nov. 3, 5 p.m.: Headache and lousy feeling hasn't gone away. I've tried several times to be productive, but it's not working. Catch ya all later...
Sunday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m.: Spending SOOO much time, energy, focus, etc. almost 24/7 for weeks and weeks on my All New And Improved Uncertain-T Model Kits project has taken its toll. I feel lousy today and feel a headache coming on, so I'm going to go lie down... maybe for a little while until I feel better... maybe all day if I don't feel better. And... yes... it's been raining A LOT as usual, so I can't do anything outside in the sun... "sun"... what's that?? Catch ya all later...

I haven't read anything positive about this project or this guy as a person to be honest. I already got my money back. When and IF this kit is made, I still want to see the quality. He's starting from nothing. I don't see it taking 6 months to learn do the research, get new software learn it and gone start producing kits. Sounds like years worth of work to get something decent. I'm out. Hope the rest get out in time or he makes it worth the wait. :/

I've been seriously considering asking for a refund as well Ice! I don't think he has any kind of clue what something like this takes. The more I read about him planning to build his own injection molder and to make molds from the 3d printed parts makes me wonder how in the world he'll ever get it done.
In my opinion he'd be better of drawing it all up in sketchup and having a high quality 3d printer print them off and just sell 3d printed kits.
How'd you go about getting a refund?

Glad I hadn't committed to buying in on these yet. My hesitation was because of my doubts from the stuff I had been reading. I was thinking he may be in over his head. I wish him the best of luck though, as I like what he seems to want to achieve.

Steve Scott on Facebook... Nov 17 UNCERTAIN-T PREMIER MODEL KITS UPDATES:
11/17/14, Monday, Noon: Everything is progressing quicker and better than expected, so I want to start working on MY plastic injection machine and mold making equipment soon! However, I haven't raised enough money from advance orders yet to do this the way that I want to... so I'm going to have to raise the prices of the remaining advance order categories from $30, $35 and $40, to $35, $40 and $45... effective December 1st.
AND, due to higher than expected costs for printing high quality full color boxes, instruction sheets, information sheets or maybe even booklets; and a few other cool new additional items that I want to include in my Uncertain-T Premier Model Kit to make it be something very special, I am raising the projected price of kits after I'm in production from $50 to $60 each right now. That's still A LOT LESS than paying $80 for a knock-off resin kit that requires a lot of work to clean up, and doesn't include ANYTHING more!

I got my refund yesterday. About 5 minutes after he sent my refund he posted this on Facebook... ** ALERT! Somebody just cancelled their advance order because they don't want to wait. I refunded their $25 right away. Sooo, their advance order for #171/500 IS NOW AVAILABLE!
If you'd like to place this advance order at the SOLD OUT price of only $25, and for #171, go to my Uncertain-T Model Kits store right away. Even though the $25 category says "SOLD OUT", I've adjusted the inventory to have 1 advance order available. The first one to get there and place the order gets it!
If the inventory shows "0", then someone already got it.

Lol Ice! After I sent the first email asking for a refund he replied and asked for a reason. I told him I didn't think this would happen for s few years if at all, and I would gladly pay more for a kit that's ready to ship if/when it comes to fruition.
I don't think raising the prices is gonna help his cause at all. I saw one guy on the registry that preordered 10 kits, right there is $250 and that's crazy to me.
I've seen way to many times where someone has this awesome idea for a scale product for modelers, whatever they model, where they gets thousands of dollars in preorders then just disappear.
I don't see how he is ever going to be able to make molds from 3d printed parts and be able to inject them with hot styrene and the molds actually last for the kits that have been ordered.
I'm just rambling now lol, but I hope for everyone sending him money and think they'll see a kit in the near future actually do see a kit from him. From every thing I've read he(Mr Scott) disappeared for years until he needed money and banked on the only thing he'd ever done, which was build the Uncertain 'T'.
OK I'm done lol. I'll keep posting the updates he post on Facebook so everybody here can see the "updates".

Oh I agree. And I was pretty excited at first but just thinking about what so many other people have said, it doesn't look good. He's starting from nothing....nothing!! It's like if we suddenly decided to make a kit that hasn't existed for a while, know nothing about how to make it, and start asking for money as preorders.
I'm not even a huge fan of the car. Just thought I might be able to own something unique but I think I'd rather keep my $100. Like you said if he succeeds and they are worth it, I may order one at that time. And by that time, I mean years from now when he does learn everything about the business.
It'd be hilarious if he finishes and then Revell decides to repop it after all.

Lol, I can see it now. Second quarter of 2015 Revell announces an all new tool of that kit under a different name. Oh how I'd laugh and probably buy 2 out of spite lol.
