New update on Facebook... Steve Scott 2:41pm Nov 25 UNCERTAIN-T PREMIER MODEL KITS UPDATE: Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, 10:30 a.m. Hawaii Time: A very good Friend here on Facebook has sent me his complete Monogram Uncertain-T model kit for me to carefully measure all the parts to make sure that I get them exact when I design MY OWN parts. Unfortunately, whoever he dealt with at the post office seriously misled him, or just doesn't know what they're doing, or sent it via "Parcel Post" after telling him about another service that would arrive here in about a week. USPS Parcel Post goes BY BOAT, and it takes AT LEAST 4 weeks, and can take as much as 8 weeks to get here! I'm not going to let it concern me. Perhaps it was just meant to be so that I have more time to recuperate from working SOOOO hard, for SOOOO many hours, for several years in a row. I've been allowing myself to sleep as long as I need every night lately, and making myself go lie down for a nap whenever I feel a bit tired or sleepy. I'm already noticing improvements in my health and overall wellbeing as a result I'm also taking some time to catch up a little on MANY things in, out and around the house, and especially in my office, that have been neglected because I've been so focused on so many things related to The Uncertain-T. I also still have a long way to go to learn how to use the 3D CAD design program... there's A LOT to it. The main thing is that even though his Uncertain-T model kit is on "a slow boat to Hawaii"... its safe! I'll let everybody know here as soon as I receive it. Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone! All The Best, Steve

This is all interesting hes gonna use a 3D printer to make these? WHY wouldn't he use a 3D program then? AutoCAD would go a L-O-N-G ways to getting him well on the way! I myself have it, BUT I don't use it for machine control, I merely use it for design work AND if the day should ever come to me, that I can use it to control a machine, well, I'll be ready to rumble! I still say molding is better tho, that refill of plastic can not be cheap by no sort.....Molding is expensive, BUT its more in the roam of things to "work" I think, even tho its either resin cast, OR epoxy cast.....I've done both and both work well in the same mold medium I use..... Been thinkin of doing some "clear parts" for engines, to have "see-thru" valve covers! As far as Steves proposal on shipping to or from HI, I think hes a bit off on that.... I shipped a 30 pound box, 3 years ago on a BOAT to Aussie, for $78 bucks, and the guy there sent me an e-mail stating he had it in 16 days from the date the USPS took it from me! Just over 2 weeks..... I did air mail to the UK that same year and that happened in 8 days....

John, his plan is to draw up the parts in sketchup and then 3d print the parts and make the molds from the printed pieces. He plans to injection mold them from styrene after the molds are made. I fail to see how he's gonna make molds to hold up to the hot styrene being injected into them. Oh yeah, he plans to build his own injection machine as well.
This is why I got a refund.

With that said Jesse, NO ONE hold yer breath!
I'ma mold maker and have been a toy maker for 20 years....He plans to take a REAL model, copy it in some program, then 3D print it to then mold those parts (IF they're right) to then make a mold of this? PLUS Plastic Mold injection type that he also plans to make his own injector? This is a poor way of doing the mold work! Not to mention NOT to cash flow savy either! Best way would be to take the one he's getting (IF thats a true story) and pressure mold it to be made from resin plastic and be done with it, AND if he used the right silicone, it will withstand 300 degrees to then use plastic metlt pellets in a stove for 15 minutes to then put into that same mold, but whatever who am I to know any different.....
CHRIST sakes people ALL HERE, READ an HEED............. This isn't going to come to pass, don't BEE FOOLED! I make my own molds WITHOUT all the crap, and I'm molding and have only been at model car parts in under 2 months, how long has this guy "planned" these kits? GRANTED, if I had unlimited funding, I'd be right up with Ross Gibson, (I know the quality of my mold work) and this sounds to me like smoke that "Steve" here is blowing up everyone's Ass thinkin they'll fall for it......
IF this happens, don't hold your breath on quality!
