Awesome tips everyone, and after looking more, I must agree. I will see what I can do for some more flames. The seats were just a try and see thing, they were actually flames decals I cut to fit, but I am thinking to gray flock those center raised areas, and possibly flock the side doors and the back of the seats, (instead of blue). I may also flock the dash top and gray paint the dash front. Thinking gray and white inside, blue and white outside - hmmmmmmmmmmmm
But thanks for all the great tips everyone!

Well, after a partial re-do in the master bedroom bathroom yesterday, AND after our weekly Sunday morning OKC ZOO walk, (got in 7 miles this week - in just over 2 hours), I was able to get a little more bench time. Taking this down to the wire again I am afraid - BUT I am trying, LOL
First off, engine done, and engine compartment 3/4 done. Shocks I did just normal - kind of going after the "real" not pristine undies look I have not wired the motor, just been so swamped the last couple months. Depending on if I get more ahead to the body, MAYBE, I will try to get it wired.
Changed the interior, thanks for the tips everyone, I think this is much better - you guys rock!
Tires scuffed, lettered and ready to roll - IF I ever get to the underside - LOL!!
Found a chrome spoiler from an old NASCAR kit, seems to look right. Still have some touch up, but it fits pretty well
Got the dash ready and cleared - just had to find a way to throw some blue flames inside - hahaha
Then it happened - something MUST go wrong. Not sure why, but I sprayed the interior doors with the last coat of satin white - and they BOTH reacted - UNREAL But I will finally get to try out using a purple pool dip this week and see if I can clean and re-paint to make the deadline

Looks like enamel and lacquer were mixed. The rest looks great, .tom. That interior looks super clean. I like it.

That's both of us wont get bid on bud, ha!
That's actually a good question though - "WHAT IF" they don't sell? Wonder if we can pay to have them shipped back to us to sit on our shelves anyways?

Lol. You guys are crazy. They will sell. First of all I run a successful store! Hahaha. Second your builds are awesome. Remember we picked this kit because the 66 Nova is a popularity on eBay once it's built. I'm confident in your builds, guys.

The interior Tom is the bomb, that flocking and flamed dash look AWESOME! ALL so far have some really strong "Good Points"... which is an eye catching thing for them to sell.....

Thanks Hemi and DeeCee and Ice - means a lot coming from you guys - SUPER BUILDERS!!!!
BUT I must agree HalfBreed - Ice will probably have to offer free shipping, AND a 10 dollar gift card just to get a .99 bid on mine!!

Don't sell yourselves short. It's not about how much we get from each build. I'm glad you guys jumped in to help contribute and just another way of having fun. Don't let the amounts measure or dictate how good you guys really are. I can sell the same kit brand new or built sometimes for $3 and sometimes for $30. The eBay market is not the most consistent one so don't dwell on those numbers too much.

Figured I better post what I was able to accomplish this past week - today it's back to finishing up the body - I HOPE!!!!
Anyways - I wanted to raise the rear of the car, (everything is always, (slammed or channeled these days), and honestly, for me growing up, it was ass high jacked up hot rods everywhere, LOL. So I found an old frame from a Mustang kit, looked at it, and with all the cutting I have seen you great builders here do, I thought to take a wack at it. So I cut out some "snip its" if you will from the front suspension, fitted them, painted them, and hopefully this will give a little more clearance in the back once its all done. Installed the transmission, headers, exhaust, rear axle and wheels and touched up.
Letting the underside to set aside, I jumped over to the interior. Last reports we're the door panels wrinkled up on me - GRRRRRRRRRR. So, after a swim in my LEAKING pond!!! (That's a whole other story I found one evening after getting home late - not something I wish to relive), I sprayed the doors again, detailed the handles, even installed some speaker grilles, hard to see, but they are there! THEN, for some strange reason, I thought to myself, "Self -you need some more blue in here". So I tried my best with a blue fine sharpie to add a little to the seats. From a distance, I like it, up close, don't ask! LOL. Also cleaned up the dash, tried to add some gauges, that's tough work, learned I need much smaller and sharper scissors for these. Added flocking to the steering wheel, and speaker grills to the rear seat area, these should look pretty good out the rear window I hope
Back to the Undies..... Worked the front suspension, tried my best to make the front wheels pose able as the kit said, not sure if it was me or twisted parts, but could not for the life of me get this to happen, so the front wheels are glued. I was able to do a suspension like this before, on another kit and this went together well, but with time running out, I have atoned the "lets just get the dam wheels on and straight" option, LOL
And I am off to get the body done, cleared, windows installed, body installed, final pics, packing, and off to Ice she will go!!!!

I am so frustrated right now. Had to work extra today, and since we had to take the grandkids to the "Haunt the Zoo" last night, was unable to get hobby room time, but I did put on some photo etch before I left this morning for work, BUT I left the hobby room open. When I get home, I find Peanut, our new cat we got a few months ago, playing with the Nova body. Have no idea where the side trim photo etch parts went, spoiler is gone, flames on the fenders were coming off, roof and right rear quarter panel was all scratched up. I lightly sanded the roof, tried to recoat it in white, but it does not match the original coats. I almost threw the dam thing across the room, instead, its in the pool, hope it bubbles and boils away to nothing!
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, I have sent you 25 via PayPal Iceman, as per the contests guidelines - I think I need to step back and re-evaluate my intentions for entering contests. Don't think I am ready for that level. Each one I entered, I have had bad luck with the either the build, or the aftermath, (I dropped the green and black corvette I had entered into a bracket race - it's still waiting for repairs).
I apologize to everyone here - I really thought I would have no problem building this in 3 months, I mean, come on, really, 3 months! But work has been off the charts this year, and my luck just has not been there. I will step back, get after some more builds to just post, and maybe another time I will feel more confident for contests. Again I do apologize to everyone for not completing this build - and payment has been sent Ice

sorry to hear about your dilema cc. please dont let this stop you from entering any other contests. thats one reason why i started mine right away and stayed on it. otherwise id never get anything done. Agreed. Don't let this unmotivated you from future contests. We learn a few things with each build and maybe you've learned so watching that will help you finish the next one. I want to see one of your builds in a voting poll. You deserve that!

That's a real bugger CC, i guess the one thing you have learnt from the experience mate, "shut the door". I hope you do get it finished and at least get to post it up for us to see, as it was looking great with the blue anodized look with the white. A couple of honey beers mate, and you will be back at it i hope.

Tom, I don't have a lot of experience but I am a flames guy and I wish I could do flames like this. I like this but what you are saying about blue flames over silver could be stunning. I really love your flame job is what I really wanted to say.

CC I just read what happened to your build and I too am sorry to hear what happened. We all know what that is like. I can't tell you how many knives I threw in the trash and then dug them out and kept after it. I've done the same with models. I dearly hate to make mistakes and I am blessed & cursed by being a perfectionist. This may sound cornball to you but I have always believed "It always gets better if you don't quit." I am in my first contest and jittery about it, thinking I don't belong, I shouldn't have done it blah blah, but somebody in here I look up to told me it doesn't matter if you win or not. Just being in it is an opportunity to learn more and gives you a chance to go further in perfecting our craft and that's the most important thing. You are a damn good model builder and I know you love this hobby. "It always gets better if you don't quit!" Stay with it Tom, Stay with it.

CC, that sucks man damned "Catzilla" I've had my own run-ins with a cat a few times (NOTHING recent) but damn it still sucks no less!
For Gods sake tho CC don't give up strawberry happens and then at times you seem to step in it.. ERRRR (I know how THAT feels specially when the intent is in the right place!)
STILL give the models a run for building, like me, I am going to put a few in a few races but. thats all coming so....I have yet to actually "enter" such as you have here......
I'd find or try to find all the parts to that model, build it for spite! (just how I am, the Irish comes out) LOL Just to give the whole thing a "BIG BLAH" in the end!

Thanks everyone - your words are truly uplifting and inspiring.
I wont give up - I never have before, but man was I freakin PISSED! Lol
I have kept closed the door to the hobby room since Saturday. As I kept walking by it, first couple of days I did not care if I ever opened it, but last night I took a peek, walked in, sat down, big ole heavy sigh, (you know the one - we have all been there), and reached for the pool and took out the Nova. I wiped off the body, put it back in the pool for a little more soaking, hoping by Thursday or so I will start to get it white again. I will make 2 sets of flames this time to lay down, and re-think the whole photo etch thing, (got some ideas). I will post what I get done as soon as I can. I truly am sorry for missing the contest - but I also thank you all for the kind words, (and keeping the dam door closed advice DC!! You said it brother - LOL)

CC, Fast closing door "armature" ? Like a public restroom has? That when you open it, IT closes it for you? I've got one going on my shop door to keep the damned Cat I got from the shop... the Dog is a whole bunch LESS trouble that way! He only makes a mess with his toys on the floor! LOL And yes, I know the sigh......I got one hell of a mess in my shop right now with all the cast work thats needing cleaned......
