Okay for May I'm doing the '55 Chevy from Two Lane Blacktop. I'll be using parts from several kits. Some of the parts have come from members here at Jerry's Cherrys! (thanks guys!) Here's the humble beginnings... AMT '55 Chevy two door sedan contributed it's body. Here the front clip has already been separated from the rest of the body. I took a trashed MPC flip nose '57 Chevy body and removed the area between the doors and fire wall and grafted it onto the AMT '55 body. The engine is from a Revell '67 Chevelle I chose this engine due to it's excellent detail and that it has the correct flex fan that was used on the Blacktop car. The chassis in the photo is from a Revell '55 Chevy and the tunnel ram intake is from the parts box. More to come soon!

You ve never seen it! Oh man, you need to check it out! Don't expect much of a plot. just a couple of drifters who travel around. they street race to make money. Its more of a culturial thing. If you watch a few clips on youtube you ll get the jist of it...

Yea Man, A couple of scenes in the movie remind me of my old street racing days..The drive in scenes and the racing were defiantly memory ticklers ..

Hey, dont forget the tank is in the trunk and so is the fill, and its a must not to forget them little wiper arms too. I want to see how you are gonna make them sliding door windows. This one is going to be interesting. Maybe when I grow up I can build models like you do LOL!! Chas.

This one is going to be interesting. Maybe when I grow up I can build models like you do LOL!! Chas. Thanks Santa, but actually racing tires, a floor jack and a tool box were in the trunk. The fuel tank (fuel cell? ) was underneath the car. The fill tube was in the trunk on the left hand side close to the trunk opening. Also in the movie the stock gas fill door is clearly visable, so this will not be filled on the model. I was going to post a few photos of the car, but I can't seem to them to load. I can however post a new progress photo! Here I cut the front of the chassis off and have a section to replace it with. Here it is attached with the glue drying.

Thanks Paul, Mike, Doc and Frank! It really means a lot to me when I get encouragement from such fine builders! smileyCASHS601_zps1c54a9c5 Okay, here's a little more progress... Here's one I forgot to post, It's the MPC 57 Chevy flipnose with the cowl area cut off and the AMT 55 body with the front clip cut off. As you've already seen the cowl area gets attached to the 55. This photo shows the mock up of the Revell 55 chassis under the AMT's body, no suspension has been set at this point as the rear fenderwells will have to be radioused before the wheels will fit. Here I have the rear wheels on the outside of the body to get an idea of how it's going to look.
