Thank Dale and Les - I do appreciate it!
Once I get the interior sprayed with a clear satin, it should look better. Thinking out of the box to do a purple flocking for carpet Those wheels I really took my time, with them being rare, I wanted them perfect - thanks for noticing them

Man those wheels are off the hook !!!!! They look just like a set of real ones. Now the story I read said that 69 was the test run for those rims and the intention was to use them on all Dodge and Plymouths for 70 to 75. I believe the were made of magnesium and after their release they started coming back do to wheel wobble. It was found that cracks were forming in between the lug nuts and this could result in the whole center section breaking loose and you losing a wheel. This resulted in a total recall and anyone bringing their rims back to the dealer received the new steel stamped ralley that was used for those years. Some guys how ever had already swapped their rims for after market rims and they just kept them thus the rare rally was born. It was later found that the cracks were an isolated case and the rallys were fine. Great build buddy !!

Thanks David - forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon I was worried I would mess them up. Glad you like em bud, and thank you again!!
That side story is correct, and like you said, it was just a particular run of rims that had the problems, the guys that kept those originals never realized the treasure they were keeping. They even came out with chrome versions, and some thought Chrysler just re-chromed the recalled rims they did get back - we may never, ever, really know the true story.....

Those recall rims DO look GREAT! And that was a good call on the tires too!

Thanks AK and Mike and tosouthern, I do appreciate that!
Al, I used a flat steel paint for the rims, the parts I painted anyway, with a toothpick no less....

And over on bench #2 this weekend....... Cut the boots and got them on the plug wires in preparation to wire the motor. Both front and rear suspensions readied - (this really is a simple kit, not a lot of detail unfortunately) Drilled out the dash in preparation for some Cuda dash gauges, plan to cut these down and install them on the back side, to hopefully get some depth and realism. Not real happy with the results, but will keep on trying until I get a pattern down... After a polishing, I took the body and sprayed a coat sparkly metallic clear.... Once the metallic clear was et up, I applied the body decals and clear coated.... Love this Dupli Color metallic spray - you really only see the highlights in the sun....

Dude your flying through this build. And I wish they did that sparkly clear at the local parts store but they only have the plain shiny clear

Thanks Les - kind of had a slow down this week, (had several long days at work - ugh). BUT, I did try to make a little more progress. Engine is done, and with a bit of modeling physics, the front suspension, rear suspension, engine and driveshaft are drying. Time to start back on the body details a bit.....

Thanks so much Mike and David, I really do appreciate that!
Here is where the Cuda is this morning, after drying last night. I will have to re-position the rims in the tires a touch. I also tried to "dirty" up the chassis a bit, may do a little more, trying to replicate how kpnuts does - his weathering is the bomb!

Thank you Mike and Dale, means a lot coming from you guys, No Doubt!
Worked on the body some last night, opted to paint the window trim and other chrome trim for this build. I do not want to drag this build out. The detailing was not what I am used to, so instead of cursing the dreaded BMF, I simply painted the chrome work. Have some touch up areas of course, but with the purple sharpie, and a good old fashioned polishing, she should come out ok
