Working on the high rise cowl hood - I will get some pics of this soon, and finishing up the engine wiring. Still gotta dig through the parts bins for some different rims and tires yet - but should have some progress pics up soon -

Ok mate - I was not kidding when i said I was once again starting to make some headway on this. Just want to put it together so I can move on to something new, and concentrate on my 70's build.
Gonna have (2) hoods for this build, the stock version, and this high rise cowl resin version. Primed and sanded and a couple coats of chrome silver - and then I sprayed the underside the translucent green - will get after the topside this weekend.
I must have spent an hour just digging through (2) boxes of rims and tires. Came up with these two sets, not sure if I will use either of them or not

Moving along - over to the engine, manifold and carbs on, drilled out the block and am using a pre-fab distributor and wires. Installed the spark plug boots a couple months back, so now I can get the wiring done easier and faster. Also, while I was digging through the tires and rims boxes, I happened across this steering wheel, thinking I may go with this instead of the old original
Also, started to put together the interior. backseat in, door panels / sides on, and front bench seat is ready. I was thinking some black flocking for the carpet and headliner - not sure now. Thinking to possibly go with a darker, forest green color flocking

Looking very cool Tom !! , I would go with the Keystone wheels and Indy profile tires ( but that's just me ) the cowl hood and custom steering wheel are going make it really cool !! smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

Thanks Paul, I am leaning towards those chrome Keystone rims as well. They are sharp looking, BUT, thinking maybe a pair of some fat NASCAR slicks on the back, and some skinny tires for the front!
Or maybe just use them as they are - kind of like an all season tire really......

Looking real cool Tom, i personally like the wheels on the right, as the tyres on the chrome ones look too chunky and just not right. that's the only reason, the tyres. That color is beautiful mate, cool looking interior too, black carpet would be my choice though. Engine looks real good too, keep at it mate, this will be one cool build when you get it done. smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

Cowl Hood - check! Think it came out nice. Installed some dash and air cleaner decals - check! And started laying some green flocking. You may have been right DC about using black, BUT...... Too late there mate - it's green as I foreseen egyptian

Applied a second helping of flocking to the interior, and applied the flocking for the headliner Then I grabbed some Model Car Garage vinyl top kit - gonna get wiggy with the roof!!!

That dash came out a treat mate. Flocking, the green does look good and i am intrigued with that vinyl top, especially on a wagon..

Wow - thanks so much Sid, Les, jantrix and Dale - Lol Don't think I have ever gotten so many pics for a build review - running-around-smiley-emoticon
I do have some fixing to do on the roof, but for a first try, not too bad I guess. Am finishing up the motor, so soon it will be time to get this mashed together and do the final do-dads! road-rage-smiley-emoticon

Thanks a lot waba-dude. Yep, I agree, gonna go with the keystone rims for sure. Thinking to put some NASCAR slicks on the rear, and some smaller tires on the front, just to give it a little attitude

Well, got some tid bits done, making progress towards the smash it all together event, LOL Still have tons of painting to do, gas tank and straps, and still have decals to apply to the grill and rear chrome door piece. Was doing all kinds of little painting here and there, battery, etc.
Let's see.... had to hollow out the disc brakes to make them fit these rims, and am in the process of painting them. Finished up the rims and tires, engine installed, working on the exhaust and rear end / front suspension.
Also applied the badging decals to the rear door, and both sides front and rear.
AND - as a bonus surprise, I ordered some custom decals from Firebird Designs for the side windows Even threw on a bumper sticker that reads I love Jerry's Cherry's!!!
