Thanks Paul, I do appreciate that! I tried to take a snap shot of the engine this morning, but could not get the dam thing to focus before I had to run out the door for work. Hopefully will get some more progress pics up this weekend

Got tons of bits painted, chrome is all cleared in future. Engine was coming along fine, then of course I wanted to try a new technique to add plug wires to the original kit distributor. The little lifeless mass of plastic next to the manifold is what is left of it.
Gonna dig into the detail bins and find a distributor to keep this rolling along.
I have a VERY STRANGE, WEIRD, AND UNUSUAL idea coming for this build. Keeping this under wraps until I do some testing - let's just say it involves decals, AGAIN - I KNOW, but not for on the body where you would think

Have you considered writing for a tv show? Building the drama and suspense like this

I think we have all been there with trying to wire a tiny distributor CC. At least you gave it a shot! This is the only way we learn.
The engine looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing what your plan is with the decals.

Thanks to a good friend, I shook off the model kit blues, and got some more paint flying. Sprayed the interior silver, so I can eventually have the steel parts inside match the green outside. The dash, instead of boring black, I am gonna have this match all steel as the green of the car. I did paint the top of the dash flat black, also painted the seats and hand painted all door panels flat black. Still have more flat black to go for the rear mat, and another coat / touch up on the black for all. The seats I plan to add flat gray stripes, the bottom of the door panels also to be flat gray. Then EVERYTHING will get a coat of the translucent green. This should make the flat black a satin color, with just a slight green sheen - the flat gray, who knows what that will turn into, LOL. And of course, the remaining silver areas will look like the car, as it would have back in the day.

Scratch the whole "mystery decal" thingy - not gonna happen. I may try it again, learned some things, so thus I am keeping secret and staying all hush-hush about it, LOL

Don't worry about the decals mate, bust out that airbrush.... help-smiley-emoticon
When your in a building slump mate, you just need to do a good tidy job, you will be pleased with your result, and then you get onto the next, and all of a sudden, your a building mad man again... smiley-scared002 running-around-smiley-emoticon
Keep at it buddy..

LOL - You know it bud, got some shots to get uploaded, but I am just moving along easy like on this one. The decal thing was not for the body, had a crazy idea, that may work in the future, just need to keep experimenting.
I was going to lightly spray this green with some silver shading, but man, the more I look at it, the more I think I will leave her as is. It is really a nice paint job, especially coming from some rattle cans!

Well, FINALLY I got something done.... After painting the interior chrome, the seat stripes flat gray, and other areas flat black, I sprayed the interior with translucent green to match the body. Next up, detail the dash and door panels. After a few days of drying, will also need to decide on a flocking color for the carpet and headliner... thinking green. Possibly flock the seat stripes as well maybe, hmmmmmmmmmm.... First - a HUGE thank you to everyone here for showing me the ways of the spark plug boots. I finally cut and installed some boots for the distributor wiring. Learned this here from watching everyone do this, pretty nifty! After a few more rounds of this, will have to learn to wire EVERYTHING and then fuel lines and linkage I hope you can see the boots, tough to get a good picture of the teeny tiny buggers!

Thank you Mike and Dale - unfortunately, I kind of stalled after this last update.
I gotta get this one wrapped up soon, just been busy with my daughters wedding coming up, and all this dam wild weather the past couple of weeks. smiley-scared002 No sooner do we get a day or two relief, we then gotta get the dogs and cat in carriers and huddle up in the interior closet. We do not have a storm shelter, wish we did, we are looking at getting one in the back yard soon if we can.
But I do hope to have a ton of updates by this weekend.

Well - I failed you guys. I do apologize, this build never got off to a good start. My fault - just never made the time
Maybe it's because it's a station wagon, just cannot seem to get excited about a station wagon
Maybe it's my daughter's wedding, that has taken a lot of my time, (and money!) Maybe it's the 60 to 70 hours a week at work - like even today - on Memorial Day no less!
But regardless, I will do my best to get this finished when we get back in a couple weeks
I have been doing some metal builds - but those are naughty, and not allowed for posting smiley-wagging-his-finger-saying-no-emoticon
But again, I will get this wagon finished up so I can move onto something better in plastic! egyptian

And be careful of those "metal" ones, they have coodies...... smileyCAELY0UD_zps3cc8a166

No worries mate! Once I get this wedding trip in my back pocket, (of which there is plenty of room now that there is no money back there! Ha!)
I will become a building MONSTER!!! I plan to knock out several kits!

Yeah, c'mon, i been waiting long enough.... Indeed you have sir. I am glad to get back after this to knock it out, need the room for bigger and better stuff! I am re-thinking a few things on this build, thinking bigger, fatter rims and tires, a high rise cowl hood, and some other surprises....
