Great work as always Dale! That Caddy mill is sexy. What's an extractor? Thanks guys, , I forget we all call things by different names around the world, HemiJ, Is right, we call them extractors, you guys call them Headers, so I have to scratch build 16 header tubes for this beast, I might make that tonights job. And yes John, a lot of injector tubes, 16 of these work out to about $30 worth of pins for that job, but what else would look so good in that quantity..?

Well, this has been in a box for too long, as i wanted something simple to do, so i did the Lowrider Chevy, then got stuck into the 40' Ford, now back onto this one. Here is a hint of paint, the silver and black, are only under colors, the body will be painted the same color as the chassis, only with this work under it. And i know what some one will ask, .........they were fishnet stockings, and NO, NOT MINE !!!!!!

Caddy engine has molded-in parts and odd air duct hoses to the carbs, not like on my Jo-Han, so my guess is Italeri. As for easy engine options, check hood width before final choice. Easiest would be a Vipe V-10. Caddy isn't bad, but molded-in bits detract from the realism. Turbos are way cool, but with limited space under the hood and turbo(s) plumbing, it can be a hard fit. Maybe a 'Vette engine? The roof line and your skill in fitting is excellent. This should be a build to watch! Thanx.

I had numerous engine options, including Viper V10, blown Hemi, Turbo's etc, but i wanted to keep it a bit "era correct" sort of, the molded parts are a non issue, as for the air ducts etc, there are no carbs left to worry about, and as for hood clearance, there ain't one, so i think the Caddy 16 will work perfectly, and how many Hot-rods do you see with one of those..... smileyCASHS601_zps1c54a9c5

I have seen hot-rodded old Caddy V-16s! One, if memory serves, was the Jo-Han old "limo" turned into a Gothic rod, done by a woman. Maybe another by one of Dr. Cranky's cohorts, or possibly at one of the other popular model forums. Thanx for one unique creation!

Thank you, thank you and thank you, Progress has been slow on this one, i sort of got stuck into the 40 Ford a bit much, not to mention throwing a low rider in there aswell. Got som interior sorted out, but forgot the pics of that.... forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon So i made a windscreen tonight, only took me about 2 hours. Started with a large one and just cut and filed, until i got what i wanted. I only used the bit that is taped up. And with out wanting to give too much away, here is the windscreen fitted, and a pic of the doors freshly painted under the light of the paint booth.

running-around-smiley-emoticon Yeah, i do cop a ribbing at work sometimes mate, especially when i have painted a pink or purple car over the week-end..... or that is what i tell them... shhhhh-smiley-emoticon Ice and cheaterslick, you can do it, its just finding that formula that works for you, i find, stick to the same kind of paint all the time, and it becomes a lot easier to be consistent guys. But Ice, first you got to grow up. Well, got a bit done on the interior tonight, bit of carpet, some nice comfy seats out of a later model Mercedes, the floor pan was a donor, and still got a few bits more to do yet. Found an amp for it, now for the speakers and a head yet, wont be long now i hope.

Slugging away at this one, made some mufflers for it tonight, and slotted the engine in aswell. Next job, which i have been putting off for about a month, is the headers, 16 x hand fabricated tubes from the head to the mufflers.

Well, after a few more setbacks on this one, i finally got the exhaust headers made and fitted, i made them from solder. Now, for the radiator, and suspension, of which i don't have anything really to work with.
