I have to side with Frank, I too can't wait to see it in the booth!
Tom, As far as the putty primer goes, I think thats just a high build primer that covers scratches and over top of the actual "filler".....
Correct me if I'm wrong Dale.....

DeeCee, What is Putty Primer. Is that a one step stuff or did you just do the putty work and then prime it Tom Tom, young Hemi is right, it is a high fill acrylic automotive primer, straight out of the can, it fills scratches and helps fill imperfections due to seams and body mods etc. There is white putty underneath, to fill the big holes. This will be blocked back, and then primed with regular primer, this way it is easy to spot any imperfections before painting. Hope this helps mate.

Thanks D, i thought it was , but who can believe everything on Google. OK, the front end was not going to fit, so i had to separate it, and widen it, whick meant making some wider chassis rails for the front to join up with. doooh!!!! Then the doors fell off,..............might have to hinge them and suicide them at the same time. Looked underneath, and could not leave it this ugly, so i have flat floored the under-fender wells. And more putty, and sanding..... road-rage-smiley-emoticon

I hate sanding giving-thumbs-down-smiley-emoticon but shes looking good! Yeah, not a fan of it either, but the extra work here, will show up at the end with, hopefully a great paintjob that needs little work at the end, a good painter told me many years ago, 90% of a good paint job, is done BEFORE the color goes on. And thanks mate.

And thanks mate. That good painter Dale was absolutely RIGHT! The BEST paint jobs are done BEFORE any paint is sprayed! Its all in the "prep" work before any color is layed on the body, no matter what that "body" is..... I got to say, I too am not big on sanding BUT it must be done to get the end result!

I had the same exact conversation with the painter at the dealership that I work for... So I tried to hire him to do the sanding for me but he declined cause he hates sanding too

Flipped a few coins on weather to run a bumper or not, NOT won, So i filled the bumper holes. Also laid down some color on the chassis aswell. And after drilling 48 holes in the heads,..... 16 injector holes, 16 exhaust holes and 16 spark plug holes i am over it, but then, i needed to clean the green paint stripe off the injectors. ( it is the way they come ). it took about an hour, i am over this fiddly stuff , thats for sure.!!

Thanks Mike, i can't wait to see the body done either, but that is quite a while away yet unfortunately, way more sanding to do. I moved on to some interior work, and as i have opened up the doors, i needed to cut out the interior tub to match, WELL!! What a biatch that turned into, the tub is way to narrow, so i removed the door trim bits, and found another tub from ....who knows what?? It is a bit wider, but i had to chop out some of the rear wheel arch bits, because they hit the chassis, and re-profile some of the floor section to also clear it. The one on the left is the original, the one on the right is the one i am trying to make fit. And with a few holes in it now.
And on a happier note, here is a teaser shot of the V16, i now need to make the extractors for it, as i don't seem to have any in my spares box. well, back to the sanding and cutting.
