Well, going a bit left field on this one, am doing it as a "sleeper cannonball" car on MCM. Started with a 40' Ford Sedan Delivery, and a Ferrari Testarossa, and they will be one!! Assembled the engine tonight to see where i am going with it....not far by the look of this. Time to pull out the ol' Dremel i think. Evil_Laugh_emoticon

I know you could do it, but I'd suggest starting with a V-12 and not a boxer. 612 kits are relatively cheap or a 599.

Thanks for the suggestion Don, but you forget I live in Australia mate, a kit like that will cost me $60++, and I don't buy off the net, so my hands are a bit tied. I am only using this Ferrari kit because it was there, and I think I got it at a clearance special, but still $30, I will make it fit though, never give up I say ..

Can't wait to see what you do with this one. As far as that engine is concerned just "shove it in".

Cheers Guys, i think i managed to shove it in Skip, with a little help from the shoehorn... Started by removing ALL the floor pan, got rid of the molded in exhaust too. Fabricated some new engine mounts aswell.

Well, got a little bit done on this, had to rebuild the rear of the chassis, as the motor either hit on the chassis, or the wheels would not fit. There was no way i was going with smaller wheels, so, i had to re-design most of it, to make it all work. And for the best news, it WILL sit this low.. evil6

Well, this one has sat in it's box for a while too long, so i re-did the wheels, by doing the outer rim from the Ferrari wheel red, now it looks like it has red wall tyres, and don't look so big either. And started making a diff for it, as there is no room for the independent suspension. BUT, the exhaust fits very well.

Man oh man - the customizing and imagination of the Aussie Mate astounds even the most revered scientists in all of NASA!!! Hell, I can barely mix 3 kinds of Cheerios without screwing something up, (too much sugar, tip over the milk, whatever)
YOU ARE A GOD AMONGST THE PLASTIC - IF WE WERE ALL VIKINGS - YOUR NAME WOULD PROBABLY BE

Firstly guys, thanks for the interest, this is going to be a long slow build though, so have patience with me please. Secondly, as i am NO automotive engineer, or suspension guru, this really did my head in for a while, but, i think i finally kicked its butt.!! egyptian As there is no room in the rear for all the correct Ferrari suspension, i decided to bang a solid axle through the trans-axle, and suspend the engine, so to speak. Then made to links to the axle housing, and 2 links to the engine, with "hydraulically controlled coil overs" so to speak, which are given pressure from the A/C unit, now the engine acts like suspension at the rear, and has a pivot point incorporated into the front engine mounts. Sounds complicated, good, i am hopeing to baffle you with brilliance, while feeding you with bullsh!t.! smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f And for the front, i have used the A-arms from the Ferrari, slightly modified, and instead of putting the shocks in the conventional position, i took bit of an idea i have seen on F1 and other open wheel race cars. The shocks are now inboard, of course electrically actuated, just like F1 were a few years ago. ( more baffling B/S ) smiley-scared002 And NOW.....the stance is PERFECT.

Dale that all turned out GREAT I love the Baffling B/S line you put forth thats great "STRONG" use of "Modelers License" here...... NICE work tho! Don't ya just L-O-V-E messing with stuff...... I do, its fun as hell and it (with me) makes me think and see how things truly work but teaches me in a way to make it still "work" in sight, to imagine in-motion. I got to admit, I'm still perplexed at how the damned headers fit...... That my friend could have been a FUN scratch build on them if they hadn't..... Kinda how I did the headers and intake tubes on my '57 300...... FUN FUN ohhh yeah did I mention FUN!? NICE work tho, I think you have your little issue taken care of!!!!

Dale, for you to compliment my scrappy builds when you have such outstanding work makes me feel a ton better about my modeling abilities. Anything I have done pales in comparison to your build here. Awasome work, heck of an imagination too. Remember when I said I might have to build another truck. Well, I have something special in mind that will make my blue and white one look ordinary. Yep!! One more slammed truck. Johns going to be peeved, He HATES low trucks lol!!
