Well, in trying to come up with a plan of attack for this one I kept getting caught up on all the blue lol. So this happened.... IMG_20140724_224323_585 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr Now that its black I can think lol. Do your guys' hoods all have a huge ejector pin mark? IMG_20140724_214736_885 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr Now its gone lol. IMG_20140724_215421_216 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr I couldn't help but start. I have a sorta plan, have to dig through some boxes tomorrow evening to see if I have the stuff to do it lol. I'm curious to see what everyone else has in store for theirs! Thanks for looking, even though its a boring update!

Yeh, all that blue is a bit over powering. Definitely going to have to get some parts primed before I go blue blind.

Good to know they're all equally molded lol. Another small update, its in the almost final stages of paint. Still need to sand respray then clear. IMG_20140726_215230_097 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr The bottom color is just the flat black primer and the top is Krylon satin burgundy, with createx candy brandy sprayed over all of it. You won't get the full impact till its in the sunlight, but this gives you a decent idea of the color lol. Thanks for looking!

Createx is a water based acrylic, basically you can spray it over any type of paint. I use future over the createx paints and it seems to work well, except for when I put it on too heavy much like I did last night and now have some runs lol. So I have to see what it looks like tonight now that its dried, if it looks decent I'll get some pics outside for you fellas.
Thanks for all the comments so far!

OH NO ! What happened ?? Just went back and looked at your post's ---- run problem It might not be as horrible as I think, but I cleared it late last night as was in a hurry. I got a little heavy with the airbrush in a few areas, so we'll see lol.

If its just the clear - depending on how many coats you put on - it should sand and buff out..
Good Luck .....

Well, my luck went the way it usually does and this car will be taking a purple bath lol. I must not have gotten my airbrush cleaned put as well as I thought and when I shot the second coat of clear something weird happed. Plus the hood came out a different color, so its all coming off and I'll try again. This time I think I'll try a different color combo too. Oh and I placed an order for the engine that will be power this beast, you'll have to wait to see it though!
Thanks for all the comments fellas!

Mike, I use a looped piece of masking tape. That way I can turn it upside down and on its side and it stays put lol.
Thanks guys, I'm not really upset about it as there's still plenty of time left lol.

I hate the pond! Man that sucks, but I'm thinking the next paint job will be better and you'll almost be glad you had to strip it.
Mike, spend $20 on a tamiya paint stand set, great investment, you'll be glad ya did.
