I did something I usually don't do, which is to remove a copyright that shows. this is what I get for trying to improve I guess. I was able to get into this area with a small file, using the tip of it. But that left some decent gouges. the area is maybe half an inch by three quarters, surrounded by frame rails. Just behind the gas tank. I cannot really even get a finger tip in this area. Any ideas on how to sand this? I am considering just cutting it out and replacing it with some sheet plastic, but I am concerned about cutting into the frame rails. Thanks, Russ

Smaller sanding sticks. I have some that are less than 1/4 inch thick. Use to sand off those nasty letters then mold on to the chassis

Or a small dowel rod with your sandpaper wrapped around the tip

I've also glues a circle of sand paper to the opposite end of my hobby knife.

Mine are the restoration lives with the pointed end so I didn't even think of that

Hmm, that gluing a piece onto the end of something like a knife handle might work. I just tried something I just bought the other day, sanding (oops, I already forgot the name) needles?, pointed on one end and flat on the other, round rest of the body. Until I took them out of the packages I didn't realize that they had a flat end. About 1/4 or so inch diameter. At least on this one (that I had already painted)the flat end got filled with paint really quick. Would probably work better on unpainted, but I had painted it to see just how bad the gouges were. BTW, I was wrong (don't tell my wife!) about the size. It is closer to 3/4 of an inch long by about 1/4 wide. Good thing this model is just a test mule to try out different things. :-) Thanks, Russ

Another method is to use a new pencil glue sandpaper on erasure and spin when paper wears out peel off and glue on new .

What's a pencil? :-) Just kidding. I am plenty old enough to know those well. That sounds like a good idea as well. Thanks, Russ
