well, good news on my build area. I came home from work today and my wife and daughter show me an ad on craigslist for a mobile home in a small park close to where my daughter and her boyfriend work. the pic of the outside looked decent, so we called on it. we met with the guy about 20 minutes later and looked at it. on the phone he said it was trashed inside due to the last tenant he had in it, but we figured it was cheap enough, so we'd check it out. turns out, we have different versions of trashed, it didn't look too bad, good carpet, good linoleum in kitchen/dining area and decent carpet in the rooms. other than a missing stove, one inoperative toilet [has two bathrooms] and a few holes in the walls [last guy had a temper I guess] it looked pretty good. it also has a new roof. part of the deal is the lot rent is payed until august of next year, and both propane tanks are almost full. so, we are buying it tomorrow and will rent it to our daughter and her boyfriend. I figure for what it is, it's still way cheaper than them renting an apartment, and in a year or so, we will have our initial investment back. plus I figure [hope] it'll only take a weekend to get it fully live-able.
now for the good part! I figure in about 2 weeks time, I will have a complete room all to myself for my 'junk'! I have a sweet 3x6 table I got from work, my 'new' display case, and some shelving I also got from work to put in there. naturally, I will post some pic's of my happy place once i'm settled in smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

good day today over at the new place. new locks, got the holes in the walls patched up, got a coat of paint on a lot of stuff, and figured out the electrical issue [one poor connection on an outlet, took out a whole room], thank goodness that was an easy fix. still got a ton of small stuff to do, but I think by next weekend it'll be ready to live in........,so......that means very shortly after that, I get my own room, haha!
I should work over there tomorrow, but after the week I've had at work, I need a day for me, plus I want some 'bench time'.

well, getting closer. kids are in the new place , and my 'new' room is almost empty. I gotta finish the bathroom for them this weekend, so maybe the weekend after that I can start doing up the build room. plus i'll get 1/2 our closet back, lol.

That is awesome JP. I'm super excited and happy for you. Will it change the way you build? Your style?

well, except for the display case, it's pretty well done I got the other shelf in and situated [both the shelf units are from work, out of our parts department] and I also got some small drawers that fit the shelf from work too, those are now filled with several cans of testors spray paint. the lower part of the shelf has more model kits on it. on top of the shelf are the 'purple pond' and the larger cans of paint. got the paint booth cleaned up, and found a small fluorescent light in the garage to put on top of it for better visibility. so, here it is, my new play room and all set to work again, hoping to get the display case in there tomorrow, it's kinda heavy and no one was around to help muscle it in there today.

thanks guys. seeing as the case was a freebie, it worked out great. it was kinda sketchy getting it in the room, I have a small house with what seems like a real narrow hallway. we didn't think we were gonna squeeze it in there, lol. I think the checkerboard is gonna go though, might just get some black paper or felt or something to tone it down.
now I gotta get building to fill it up!
