First let me say that this is the hardest car to build as anything other then a race car or rat.
Designed to be a factory what if "Mid Western Special" along the lines of the Mustang California Special.
The details: Pie cut the rear sail panels from 3mm to 0, split the roof behind the upper windshield and laid the windshield back 4nmm at the top so the stock glass still fits. cut the quarter window posts and frames out and the same on the door tops. Front fenders pie cut from 0 to 2mm to bring the front of the nose down.
Filled the gaps on both sides of hood and cut a .015 slit to open up a scoop. Removed the rear Gremlin badge / gas cap. Made a full rear pan and a full width tail light unit. Tail light lens is clear casting resin tinted with Tamiya Clear Red over BMF. Reshaped the front fender ends, made a new grill opening and rolled pan. The head lights are 1/16" Rectangular plastic with Smoke tinted casting resin lenses, amber parking lights are the same process. Grill is from Mercuy Comet thinned down by 1.5mm. Interior and chassis were both cut down 4mm to channel the body lower. Smoke tinted wheels and tires are from parts box.
OOB engine with parts box duals. To go with my factory show car theme the paint was done to have a Mid Western / Arizona motif. Base coat is Tamiya Lemon Yellow with a coat of Pearl Clear. the stripes are Tamiya Clear Red, Clear Orange and Clear Yellow fades. The last item was 5 coats of Pearl Clear and than polished. Paul

Very nice. I like that you explained your thinking and the nod to the California Special Mustang. The colors blend very well together and Im amazed at how you made major changes but some how kept them looking factory. Great Job

Man that was alot of work to get where you wanted to be at the end but you sure made 'er look good! I've got alot of respect and admiration for those who put this kind of effort into any given build to get a totally different result than what came in the box. Additionally, yellow is one hard color to work with but you made this look flawless. Great turn out Paul!!!
