Hi guys, I've seen the results from their chrome paint, but has anyone used their polished aluminum or stainless steel paints? If so can you post a pic or at least give your opinion on the finished look? Thanks!

Alclad is always a great detailing paint to discuss. Hope you don't mind I added it to this existing thread. We can continue it.

I never heard of this stuff until one day when I stopped by the disposal shop and they had me a jar of it in the box of paints they collect and hold for me. Was wondering if this just brushed on, but I am guessing this is for air brushing only? One of these days I will grow a pair and start to try air brushing, LOL

I've brushed it on but of course you don't get the same effect. If you take a look at my resin 33 ford, the floor panel is brushed with silver and aluminum Alclad.

...I use it too, and its GREAT paint, the BEST advice I can give ya. READ the instructions on the bottle EACH color is different! FOLLOW itto the letter and it will turn out as you want it too!
To see what the "Chrome" looks like, go look under my "'60 Dodge Deora" thread, you'll see a motor, I brush painted "chrome" and how it looks! AND I didn't even use the Alclad 2 glass black, I used Testors Gloss Black as the base for the chrome!

I do allot of chroming, and I mean allot, so I use different kinds, I have Spaz, alclad, ginsut powder, and yes I can even make dupli color work, lol, I haven tryed alcad II yet, but I will get to it, but each has its own differnt thing, so yea read the distructions very carefully, and fallow to a T, and remember the smoother the surface the better the shine, have fun man.

The Spaz spray can system works pretty good. I see in on many of my engines til I ran out. Loved that stuff I got the 3 bottle set up, chrome, black, and a cleaner for cleaning the part before ya spray, the powder is some wicked stuff, ya can use any kolor base, so long as it gloss, then ya rub the powder over it, and allows the base kolor thru, making it look like it's anodized, the bad part of the stuff, if ya don't clear it, it tarnishes into the base kolor, I dunno, it's all writing in Chinese, so I have no clue, and ya kno yer not supposed to clear chrome, or silver, so I dunno, but I do luv the Spaz...

I got the 3 can set but mine was bad gloss black, chrome and clear. The parts I didn't clear darkened up very weird.

OK, that's what I was figuring! I just didn't want to have to spend $10 on a bottle of their thinner/airbrush cleaner lol.

Yep John, I keep quite a few around as well. That's why I asked, I have a half gallon jug of lacquer thinner in the garage lol. I ordered a bottle of chrome last night and might get me a bottle of the stainless steel and polished aluminum in a couple weeks.

It's great. Take a look at their website for proper application. It's a bit tricky to get it smooth and even.

Just did Ice! I'll pick up some plastic spoons tonight and spray them with a couple different blacks to see what works best for me. I'll go ahead and post my findings to this thread for others to see.

Have you used the polished aluminum and could you tell the difference between it and their chrome? I used the chrome on some rocker covers and really liked the results. I'll post some pics here shortly.

Here's my first attempt at Alclad II chrome. Its sprayed over Walmart Color place gloss black. IMG_20141029_212745 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr I shpuldvr made sure the black was smoother, but I'm happy with the results. I sprayed 4 super light mist coats of alclad at about a 45° angle to the parts. I found this stuff very easy to use and spray great at around 10psi.
