Been in the parts gathering stages for a while, finally got my 4 Ala Carte noses to slice and dice. One of the major issues is the mix of original photos and the "restored " photos. The restored version has the floors modified for leg room and a large trans tunnel to clear the GM 200-4R Metric tranny, the seat bad angles are modified and the gauges are Dakota units. A lot of dective work and 235 photos from the Peterson Museum.
Started with a 7" (7mm) channel and a 3" (3mm) top chop. Moved the rear wheel opening up 7" and sectioned the door area to move the bottoms up 7". Re scribbled the door openings and eliminated the lower hinges. Chassis wise I made up early style radius rods and moved the front cross member forward 2" (2mm). On the rear made up a stock style spring and shock mounts.
The engine is partly the Olds from the original Revell Stone Woods Cooke Willys with modified Parts Pack Caddy valve covers. Blower is a parts box mix with a scratch built blower manifold and carb manifold. Carbs a from the AMT 53 F1 pick up. I need to machine the cars Almquist air cleaners The blower belt set up is from the AMT Wynns Jammer and the generator belt, pulleys and generator mounts were scratched. Started with the mods below the doors where the original panel shape was remade for the "fins". Paul

Here is a bit more progress, i have the rear about 80% to shape. A bit more filler on the right top where it blends to the deck lid and more definition on the side "bumps". Last is to re scribe the lower trunk opening. I've mostly used Rage body filler, but nobody had any local so I bought a quart of Bondo Ultra. Dries pretty fast with minimal hardener, bonds well to polystyrene and it will wet sand with 400 to blend. A wet coat of primer and it seems to be good. Paul
