Hi all due to the kindness of Richard, this arrived today all the way from the US of A.    It looks an amazing kit, obviously since it was a kind donation I have decided to take greater care than I did with the RE20 first thing I noticed was the fuel lines are way out of scale they should be 8mm which scales down to 0.7mm roughly (slightly less than that its actually 0.67recuring) the supplied clear tubing is 1.33mm  After heating and stretching I have a very close  That is about all I will get done before the funeral. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this. |

WAW another huge kit going to be a master piece, i really did enjoy your RE20 and can't wait to see this one too

Not at home at the moment (father in laws funeral) (will be sadly missed) but before I left home I managed this much    Where would I find pics of this engine, I google it but all I get are pics of this kit in various stages of build. |

Looks amazing so far!! Try looking up Lotus type 49...They ran an earlier version Cosworth V8 in that chassis. Should give you some detail insight.
Also just as an aside here...RB Motion makes a cam cover fastener kit for this engine for the Tamiya Type 49 Lotus model kit.

Hi all back off hols so now eager to get back at this.     Whilst on hols I won a revell ex protar F1 for a really great price (yes the box is really battered but the bits all look good) I've seen one on there with a starting bid of 197 quid I paid no where near that. Can anyone guess what it is. |

Ha ha , you lost me at “ 197 quid “ but really you keep coming up with these awesome kits and then you paint techniques and details just blow me away. Sometimes I look at the pictures and I’m just speechless. Great job !

OK so these decals are 40 years old and have had a tendency to break up so last night I spent 2 hrs getting these together and was patting myself on the back about the great job I had done, only to see this morning they looked like this.  No recovery from that one, I looked on indycal but they are all printed on a black background, I'm a bit worried that it may not be the same as the black the one I've Sprayed the rest of the car with. Anyway the rest of the decals went on OK.  |

That's a bummer. I feel for you man...Having decal difficulties with a build of mine also. If all you need is the #5s' and the flag decals. The Indycal stuff shouldn't be too bad. The black that is exposed on the decal is minimal and any color variation should be hard to spot by anyone not looking for it. This build looks awesome despite the decal set back. I think you will save it man!!!

Yeah I agree with what Pete has said here. Sub par kits can hinder a good outcome on a build but it looks like you're persevering through it all Ken. Hang with it man.....I think it'll turn out pretty dang good myself.
