This is grade A quality. Let me ask you something. So many hoses and so many little details. What's your secret to not getting glue all over the place? I've tried toothpick, I've tried pins. One of my challenges is too much glue in some spots.
Second question. Everything is so straight. How do you hold small piece in place until the glue dries?

That is sweet, but wouldn't it be a GT-1 car? American V8 ground pounders went in SCCA GT-1/Trans Am. I agree with Iceman, I don't see how you could hold all those pieces steady AND not get glue everywhere.

Absolutely incredible! And yeah, I want to know the answers to the same questions about glue and what not. What's the secret man!

thanks guy, Owhite thanks for reminding me of that. You are right. Back when i built this car i was hanging out with a bunch of NASCAR junkies and i still do. lol. At the time i was just getting into American racing cars ,so i didn't know any better. I just started watching a lot of American La mans racing , but you're right this is a GT-1 car American V8 SCCA GT-1 Trans Am. when i entered this car into contests I filled out my entry form and put my car into the GT1 class. I was told it's a GT2 car so i couldn't put my car into the GT1 closed wheel class by the people running the contests. so because i don't like drama I let it go. I guess I've just got use to calling it a GT2 car.
This kit dose bring back bad memories too. because it has superman decals and not SCCA REALISTIC DECALS. I got a lot people mad at me and wanted the car in fantasy or Miscellaneous class. thy didn't want this car in the race car class, but you should also hear and try to understand there side of it. They are die hard race fans and will count nuts and bolts on model race cars to make sure its right. Any ways that's all Big model Contest drama you have to put up with sometimes if you want too compete. But You and me both know its a GT-1 car. I think ill change the tittle of the car to what it should be.

Thanks Ice , Skip and Owhite There is no secret it's just patience steady hands, a shaped tooth pick and Zap thick super glue with a Zap Accelerator to speed up cure time. For the tooth pick i shape it like a bent hook and feather the tip so its (NOT A POINT) I make it look like a small brush. So it soaks up the super glue and I can dab it on to the part where the wire or photo etch will go. Once the photo etch or wire is in place i use Zap super glue accelerator to cur it.
If i do make a glue mess, and i do sometimes, i sand it down and repaint and try again until its right.
for the steady hands i meditate a half hour before I build. This really calms me down and helps with shaky hands (I used to have high blood pressure and the doctor said meditation would help).

A feathered toothpick huh? Hmmm. If you have time I would love to see a mini tutorial for these steps in the reference section.

Aahhhh, I see the the technique in the toothpick. So simple, genius is truly found in simplicity. I understand the meditation thing too. I have had to learn to control my blood pressure and I don't want to use drugs to do it, so I made a few changes to my diet, quit watching or listening to the news, try to ignore people and things that annoy me, and if all else fails I will listen to some Mozart in a quiet place. Mozart is some of the music choices I will listen to when I am building.

It may be a bit late, but I am new here, and am picking my way thru all the stuff that is marked as new for me, but this is a GREAT build! Super detailing, and I like the idea of the toothpick. I may have to give that a shot. I do have a question for you on the super glue...After an unspecified period of time, super glue sometimes just lets go. Do you go back with a drop of regular glue to secure the bond?
