70 Ford Bronco

Todays installment: Not much but...I did fab a set of long tube headers for this Bronco. (It is supposed to be a day two kind of build) I used some 16 guage aluminum wire, 5/32nds tubing and some foil tape and a WHOLE LOT of...Put engine in chassis...Take it out...put it in...Take it out...Bend some more...Repeat...LOL..But the end result looks pretty convincing. Painted em with Alclad Magnesium followed by a dusting of Alclad Copper and some Tamiya weathering powders (Cant really tell in the pics...Sorry) I wanted them to look rusty but not rotten. That factory paint only kept the headers from rusting in the box. Once you put em on an actual engine and used em...Yeah, the paint cooked off in short order. Heres a few pics...Enjoy!!

Next up: Probably more header/engine work. Gotta route the plug wires with the headers in place to get it all looking right. Stay tuned gang, and thanks for looking/commenting!!!

I like the way those headers turned out Pete nice work. Its a lot cheaper then using solder too.

Thanks fellas!! Glad you like...I hear ya Marcos, Use tubing that's not larger in diameter than your header pipe bundle. Cut to length, glue it on the end and wrap it with foil tape!! I came up with this, after not being satisfied with the heat shrink tubing method many moons ago. The foil tape conforms pretty well and if you hide the seam at the top of the collector where it faces the floor pan...No one will ever know...Glue some P.E flanges on the end if you want and call it good!!

Ok gang!! Got a bit done. Finalized the wheel/tire combo. Repainted the rims Alclad Aluminum. Didn't really care for the Alclad Black Chrome. Started the engine detail work too. Also got the exhaust painted up and ready to go. Who doesn't like Cherry Bomb glass packs!? Well maybe my neighbors...LOL...

Hopefully next installment will have a finished engine and chassis so I can finally marry the two...We shall see...Thanks for looking/commenting gang!! Stay tuned!!!

are those the stock tires ? I was thinking of buying this kit, do you know if there is any difference in the stocked bodied blue bronco kit and the red white and blue baja bronco kit ? are the parts different or is it just box art ?

Ok gang...Chassis is done, engine is permanently mounted, along with the driveline components. Its all down hill from here!!

Next up: Should be the roll cage and interior...I hope...
