Well gang, it happened yesterday. I'm hoping that it is the first of many projects me and my "scale replica" get to do together. I needed to go to the local Hobby Lobby for some paint and my wife wanted to pick up some Easter decorations so she picked up our daughter and met me at the store. I had my eyes on a Cruisin' Van kit but decided to hold off. Then I saw the generation 1 Transformers kits and had to have one. So, I put it in my cart with my paint and my daughter saw this. She then picked out her own model kit and put it in the cart with mine. I wasn't even mad, I was impressed. We get to build a Pokemon model together. It's not a car but I know she will be into that soon. She already runs up to my car and says "Daddy car vroom VRROOOOMM!!!" so a vehicle kit is just around the corner. Like i said, I hope this is the first of many. My Uncle got me into the hobby at a young age and hope to do so with my daughter and nephew.  |

Got an update fellas! the other day I ordered an old model and it arrived in the mail. When my daughter saw the model her eyes got huge! She asked "Daddy, is that for me?"
Me: Well honey, Daddy needs to build that first
Penny: Can I built it with you?
Me: How about I get you your own car and you can build that with Daddy?"
Penny: (gasps) And can we get one for Chili Dog? (Chili Dog is a nickname I have for my nephew)
Me: How about I get a car for you and one for Chili Dog and we all build them together?
Penny: YEAH!!! Call Auntie Ashley and ask her if Chili Dog can come over!
I don't know that I've been more excited in the time I have been building model cars. From the moment I found out my wife was expecting I have been dreaming of the day I could build models with my kids. Now I just need their attention span to be a little longer!
