Inspiration came from an old hot rod magazine ad. It seems that back in the day they would actually build real cars like this for advertising purposes. Whether it was a auto manufacturer showing off the color choices for that year or a tire company pushing their rims and tires it could all be found at the car show !

I have seen a couple of different ones . In person I saw a 70/71 Hemi Cuda , they called it the paint chip car. One side was white and the other was every color it was available in . White side was stock and the color side was street racer/drag . I have seen others , a magazine article about a 68 road runner done this way .
