Hey gang. First I want to apologize for not frequenting the forum much lately. Life has really changed for me over the last year or so and last week was very crazy. It was Sunday morning. My wife and I were getting our daughter ready for her 6 month photo session in the park. Our labrador, Isabel, thought she was going with but I had to tell her "you stay here, dad will be back soon. Be a good girl" and she laid down on her bed as we walked out the door. We were gone a total of about 2 1/2 hours with the photos and grabbing some lunch before headed home. I opened the door to my house and Isabel was not there to greet us. We walked in the house and she wasn't on her couch. I looked down the hall to my bedroom and saw her head looking out the door of my bedroom. None of this was really out of the ordinary but once I stood over her and didn't see her tail wag, I noticed she wasn't breathing. I pulled her eyelid open but her eyes were already grey and foggy. I screamed for my wife that Isabel wasn't breathing as I picked her up and loaded her into my car. We went to the emergency animal clinic where they told me she was dead on arrival. I have no idea what happened. The autopsy report says everything checked out normal and their best guess is she had a seizure and didn't make it out of it. She was such a good dog and my daughter's best friend. I'm still hurting from the whole experience, but I'm sure with a little time I'll get back to normal.
I love you Isabel. Be a good girl. Let Jet know I miss him too.
