Well, for those of you who dont know. I live in the Quad Cities . Its four towns two in Iowa and two in Illinois on the Mississippi River. Spring time flooding is something we live with every year, but this year has been crazy. The river which is normally 13 to 14 feet , crested at a new record of 23.5 feet. Imagine standing and looking up at a basketball hoop and thats the surface of the water !!! Well anyway, I have been lucky enough the last three years not to get any water in my basement but with it raining 24 out of 31 days in May ( another record ) my basement has flood five times. Most recently about 12 inches. So working on models was hit and miss. To finish my two builds for this month I literally sat in ankle deep water, ha ha ! Luckily all my models are up so none got damaged but I did lose almost all of my sports memorabilia , wheaties boxes, photos, autographs. It was about 30 years worth of stuff. My jerseys are safe and my University of Illinois year books with Dick Butkus were saved. So thats why everything was late this weekend, sorry !! workbench 05-31-2019 007 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 05-31-2019 008 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 05-31-2019 009 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 05-31-2019 010 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 06-01-2019 076 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 06-01-2019 077 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 06-01-2019 078 by David Keim, on Flickr workbench 06-01-2019 079 by David Keim, on Flickr

Hey, when the hurricanes came through last year my road was one of the only access points to the next county........by boat. All the Red Neck Navy guys were using my road. You can still drive around my area and see the black bands from about 4ft down on the trees from where the water was. It's eerie.

Sorry to hear. I've been seeing that stuff on the tube and have sympathy for you and others impacted. I hope things improve, and this turns out to be a once in a century thing.

Man I feel for you buddy, that is just horrible,I hope things get better for you Dave. Do you have a sub pump? I had a basement that flooded out like that and a sub pump solved my problem.

Thanks guys, i just cringe when it starts raining. The house does not have a sump pump pit. I did buy a pump that just sits on the floor ( works real good ) but it has no shut off, so I have to plug and unplug every time.
