Hi Everyone

My name is Richard I've been building off and on for about 20years. Mostly Cars some Armour and other stuff.
Anyways after a few years into building cars i noticed i wasn't really improving in my builds. I did noticed that the aircraft and Armour builders had a lot of modeling technique that I could use in car building, to help me improve.
I bought a few tanks and some plans and started to learn how to pre-shade, shadow shade and using Alclads and lots of other building stuff.
Then in 2004 with everything that i had learned I built one hell of a car. I got some good results on my builds over the next few years and i realized i was only building for contest and not for fun anymore. So in 2011 I took a break i was burnt out from it. Now its been 2 years and I'm ready to build.
Mostly this is a hobby i enjoy, so i like to just kickback relax get into my zone and have fun enjoying the build.

Warkhan this place is all about the fun !! It was my goal to get a group of members that shared knowledge and helped each other out. While at the same time posted builds and had fun in some of our contests. We have three that are ending here in a few days so make sure you look the contestants over and cast your votes. We have a Mall , chat board, how to section not to mention a large collection of real car photos from car shows.......oh ya and the builds we have the under construction and of course Jerrys Cherrys where we post the finished rides.

Welcome Richard.
This is probably the best place to enjoy model building. It's fun and helpful with a dash a friendly competition with the various contests.
I seem to be on the same line of thought as you about applying the detailing techniques from the aircraft/armor builders. When I had quit building about 25 years ago, I was at that point of wanting to step up my detailing skills, and now that I have recently jumped back into the hobby, I am easing my way in that direction.
By the way, checked out your video....STUNNING builds. Your skills are where I want mine to be.

Not defending alcohol, but I have done some really stupid stuff while sober too.
