In the mid-1990's several American universities, in partnership with a few investor-owned utilities and electrical equipment manufacturers sponsored electric vehicle auto races. The cars were built with Indy-style bodies, and had student pit crews. They were early efforts to introduce electric vehicles to the public. Those efforts helped pave the way to today's electric vehicles.
Ohio State University was one of those schools that participated, and the regents have decided that now is the time to once again make a foray into electric car research. This time, however the effort will be focused on the practical application of technology to advance electric vehicles, as well as make OSU a leader in EV studies. To that end, OSU will be co-sponsoring an innovative three-wheeled vehicle named the TWM-E (Three Wheeled Motorcycle-Electric). The TWM-E will have a hub-mounted motor, and flat battery pack to increase storage space. Superlight materials will be used in its construction to keep weight to a minimum, and it will also feature a wing-mounted solar panel to assist in recharging the 12 volt accessory battery.
Construction is to begin immediately.

F***ING COOL!!! I love how this is looking already. I have never been a fan of Hybrids. I apologize to anyone I may offend but a Prius has NEVER been cool in my eyes. However, electric vehicles have a soft spot in my heart. I really like some of the EVs that have been built and think the Teslas are really cool looking. Not to mention the instant torque. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Originally it was going to have a 4 cylinder but I decided on an EV because prototypes are about the future, and so it evolved.

Hey Guys, just a quick update just to show where this is going.
Because the interior is what everything revolves around I'm working on it first. I took a Viper interior and sectioned it to make it narrower, and then added a touchscreen ala Tesla, however on this prototype the screen will handle all functions except battery level. I now have to figure out how to fill the voids on either side. I also cut the top open and will add a support. Thanks for looking.

Things are starting to take shape a bit.
I sectioned the front of a viper and trimmed the halves down to form the headlight pods. I also added a piece down the middle to join them, and a nose piece. I'll add some 2-part Bondo to fill the gaps under the lights, and just unify everything. I'll be adding a roll cage of sorts, and work on attaching the frame for the rear wheel assembly to the interior platform while the putty dries.

Well, I ran into some issues with this and had to chip the Bondo off that I had put on and damaged the body in the process. This is officially a no-go. Sorry.
