ok, going to try to jump in this one. I have swung and missed on every one of these, but we must forge onward. I am going to try my hand at a 1966 nova gasser. big block, of course, injected, naturally, way up in the air attitude...... well, this is going to kill me. I am used to building my stuff on the ground. no pictures yet, this will be a true parts box build. I have to find a stock nova chassis first and foremost. all I have is a few pro street chassis and some rat packer stuff. I can make that work, but time is of the essence and I am a SLOW builder. anyways, hope to get this off the ground this week, will be finishing up some other builds along the way and I have a lot of parts gathering to do. so look out guys... Tubbs is in the house and he is gassin'!!

thanks, I am destined to finish one of the darn builds, hopefully this will be the one. always questions though, I do not have a stock chassis for this kit, I was going to do more of a street strip weekend warrior car. digging thru some parts last night, I pulled out a rat packer chassis. the problem with it is it is an altered wheelbase, don't really want to do and AWB car... cause, well, that's not a gasser, so I may end up bashing a few frames together. make an ol' parts box chassis. looks like it will be an all out racer. may take the pro street chassis and untub it... sacrilege right there!!! that may be the best way to go.
bought some metal stacks a while ago, got those, got the big block for it. thoughts of putting a 392 blown hemi in it.... or a tunnel rammed small block.... or big block, we will see. of course, I have a lot of resin stuff from you that will be going on the build (thanks again). the only thing I know for sure is it will have cragars on it.... maybe... and I have to paint it some other color than blue. too many builds are turning out blue.
so, I will probably take some shots of what I have this weekend and get them posted.

thanks for the encouragement fellas. like any typical build, can't decide on which way I should go with this build. spent part of our rainy Sunday contemplating this build and gathering up parts. once I get more parts gathered and questions answered, I will throw up some pictures... if I don't have problems with that.

gathered up more parts the other day, found a big block, got an injection manifold and of course, they don't mate up. will have to do some persuading on it to make it work. looked at the pro street chassis, all the time I spend hacking up stock chassis to make them tubbed, and I am going to take a p/s chassis and put it back to stock, well, semi stock wheel wells. seats dash... observation, the pro street dash in the 66 nova, did you know there are 2 of them, I guess the older one has a 4 gauge cluster in the middle and I guess the newer ones have a screen in the place of the gauges.....
I do think the one thing I am doing is instead of the "nose up attitude" on most gassers, I am going to make it sit level. maybe a slight upward rake, but not much. more parts digging as I look for a ford 9", some slicks and mags, and all the miscellaneous engine stuff. hope to get it in the engine shop for some assembly and the body in the paint shop this weekend.
thanks for the comments fellas....

ok, no pictures yet, but I am moving along. getting too involved, as usual. instead of just doing it, I am hacking motors up, chassis up, now I want to open the doors and trunk... C'MON Al... just build the damn thing!!
sorry, first off, there is always good and bad to all my endeavors at the bench. was gluing some parts together and I left the cap off the Tenex. there was a 1/4 jar left... not any more. good thing I have backup. although I did leave my brush in it and it is now ruined.
so, onto the build. I am doing this build as an average Joe build. he spends as much on his car as his wife will let him. he can't afford a blower. he did manage to scrape up enough for a hilborn injected 427 from a hot rod shop downtown.. he has gutted the interior, sold off the seats, door panels and other misc things to get a set of 8" firestone slicks and a racing seat. the front tires are old 15's from his wife's 64 impala. straight axle from the boneyard and he is fabricating the rest. no cash for mags, running steelies. has a line on a fiberglass front end but is not sure if he will have the money scraped together by the end of the month. that is when the big race is. he is really pushing to get this thing fired up. he was in the garage hustling last night, but his dog just wouldn't leave him alone and they ended up playing till 10:30 instead of working on the car!

HAHA... I think that relates to a lot of guys. glad you like it. thought I would put a little meaning behind it, this way if I don't finish, people can still enjoy the story.
and I know what they say, if it aint in pictures, it didn't happen. well here you go. soo all my builds are NOT just in my head!! I actually pushed, yea, I don't box up things, they just get moved around on the bench

ok, this is a very important picture, this area you see here, yea that's my feet, in one night has swallowed up, a ciol, an old school magneto and a wheel insert... pissed me off....

anyways, he was working out in the garage, just trying to think of ways to lighten the car, his wife says she just got promoted to head cashier and they have a little more cash each week. so now he was able to get that sheet metal he wanted and proceeded to yank out the gas tank rusty metal out and replace it.

here are the steelies and slicks he will be running n the car. if he can steal the lawn cutting jobs away from the neighborhood kid, he may be able to afford some nice 5 spoke spindle mount mags for the front.
you can see the new piece of sheet styrene being welded up in the background.

nope.... didn't make it, but like Paul, I will finish and I will post it up. got some direction from an ex-racer and it set me back, but I decided to do it up right instead of slapping it together.
so, what is the next 3 month build?
