OK gang! As quickly as 2017 came it is almost over (hard to believe it is October already!!!) I want to give you all the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming year and start planning your Model of the Month builds. The schedule will be as follows:
Jan- Coulda Woulda Shoulda- Concept cars
Feb- GM- Anything Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Etc
Mar- engines smaller than a v8- Let's see those 4 and 6 cylinder motors!
Apr- van
May- restomod - Classic looks with a modern drivetrain
June- real life ride (must provide a photo showing the 1:1 inspiration)
July- Service Vehicles- Police cars, Fire Trucks, or military vehicles
Aug- promod/prostreet
Sept- MOPAR- Dodge, AMC, Chrysler, Etc.
Oct- 2wd truck
Nov- FoMoCo- Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Etc.
Dec- build a car from the year you were born - I was born in 1986 so the vehicle I build would be brand new in 1986
Three Month Builds
Jan, Feb, Mar - ( due Mar 31st )
Next in the Decade build - Sharp won and has chosen 1940 ! - any kit 1940 to 1949, built any way you want !!
Mar, April, May - ( due May 30th )
Anniversary Build - 2017 theme is Gasser - any car , any year, As wild as you want to make it . No guest judges / we will do it our selves !
Jun, Jul, Aug - ( due Aug 30th )
Monster Truck - New school, old school, if its big bad and loud it works !!!
Sept, Oct, Nov - ( due Nov 31st )
Box Stock - any kit - must be built using only what comes in the box. No after market, no pre wired plug wires, no flocking. Paint is allowed, paint and detail paint as much as you want.
Hopefully this will get you guys thinking about what you will be building for the next year. I know here in the MidWest we are quickly approaching the dreadful cold and snow (perfect for staying inside and getting some bench time!) As always if you have any questions feel free to ask.
