Does anyone have the 2003 release of the 69 Charger 500 that shows a red car on the box with red line tires and dog dish hubcaps? I just need to know if the kit includes these tires and rims to build the kit as shown on the box art. The reason I need to know is that I won an ebay auction that was suppose to be this kit, but instead was actually a daytona kit. I know the Daytona kit has the Charger 500 grille, but the hood is differant and none of the other kits ever had the correct steel rims with the small hubcaps. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the responses guys! The real question I have is whether this version of this kit has the rims and hubcaps included to build the version shown on the box art.

well ak can tell you this I had to go find a pic of the kit you mentioned and the cap's on that kit are the same as the Monaco police car looked on you tube found a real one the caps on the real one look like the lindberg 330 kit color me gone and the other racers as well as the little red wagon pickup likely in the kit I don't know never knew it was out like that just recall the old yellow or gold one and if you get it and it don't have it the wheels and caps in the 2in1 revel kits look real good

wow!! can you guys post a picture of the 69 charger you are talking about? the only charger kit I know of that has dog dish caps is a 68. that kit has some real nice caps in it and I think the red lines are decals. but again, the kit I am referring to is a 68.

I really wish I could post a picture, but since photobuckets policy change I cant seem to get anything to 3rd party host my images. The kit we are talking about is a 2003 rerelease of the old MPC Charger 500 kit. It shows a red car on the box art with the small "poverty" hubcaps. As far as I know, this is the only version that has these wheels. Back in 69 all the Hemi equiped cars were required to have 15 inch rims per thier engineers. At that time the Chrysler Corp. only had one styled rim that was offered in 15 inches and they were prone to cracking and were recalled (supposedly) before any cars with them were sold. At that point the only option was to use plain steel rims.

I have a Charger 500 I built from the old (first issue?) of the Charger 500 that is molded in yellow. It had the correct hood for a Charger 500 which used the same hood as all other 69 Chargers. The MPC or AMT Daytona I built back in the day has the correct hood for a 69 Daytona which is the same as a 70 Charger and differant than the 69 Charger 500. It's not really as confusing as it sounds....just think of it this way: all 1968 and 1969 Chargers used the same hood because the front of the hood ends at the grille. The 69 Daytona and the 70 Charger both use the same hood but it is differant than the hoods on the 68 ad 69 Chargers because the front edge ends at the front bumper or nose cone. I'm not sure if the General Lee kits have the correct Charger hood or incorrect Daytona hood, but it seems to me that I remember them having the Daytona hood. All the Revell kits I've checked have the correct hoods.
