Yesterday about 4:30 pm a bad storm cell hit in the towns of Schaumburg and Itasca Illinois. It was intense and it produced a Microburst. The outer edge of this storm was only 2 miles from my house. We had lots of thunder, lightning, 70mph winds, and some debris. Power went out about a mile from my house. 2 of my friends, one living in Schaumburg, the other in Itasca did not get much damage but close to them it looked more like an EF3-4 Tornado hit. It ripped up trees, stripped standing trees of branches, leaves, and bark. Lots of infrastructure, and structural damage and flooded roads. My dog and I sat on the deck watching this take place with nothing affected by us. Over the last week or so we have been getting one severe storm after another day and night. Lots of high water by us, much worse up north but due to all the rain that has been hitting the far northern counties in Illinois and the southern counties of Wisconsin all the rivers, streams, and creeks by us are all at or over flood stage. Looks like we might have one more round of bad weather Sunday afternoon then it dries out. Cools off a bit too. We have had oppressive heat the last week here. It's been a rough July.
