This is looking very nice! What color are you thinking of using ? Like the way the finished hood turned out, I liked the louvers but they needed to be the same level as the current hood not another level up. It looks great !

Your panel lines look really clean. Did you take the time the deepen those and give them contrast or was the model just molded that well?

Thanks Guy,s.
Beast; It is going to be Burgundy with a Tan interior and black or darker tan Rugs.I am still up in the air about the louvers although the hood looks pretty good the way it is.. Schwack; Yes i did deepen the lines, thought i looked better that way.. Thanks all for looking and commenting. Comments , suggestion's and general chit chat always welcome..

Hi Everybody -- Hope all had a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. Thought I would throw a little update in for the New Year..Now that the body is in prime I turned my attentions elsewhere. Being a Concept car that Olds never built i figured it should have A C , especially since I live in Florida. I have a 66 442 for a later build, the 66 is AMT the 67 is Lindberg..Had no idea these were so far apart in changeability ..many things posed problems . The latest being the 67 has no AC and the 66 does ( as far as the firewall goes)Have to make an AC equipped firewall for 67, as the 66 does not fit.pics showing the diff enclosed. but the next issue was making a Compressor for the Engine..That had to be a Scratch Built item.. Roughed in pics included..Was made out of old stuff in parts box Have a long way to go but at least I am in new territory and not still on the body.. As always comments - suggestions or just plain chit-chat welcomed.. Happy Plastic Tom

Hi Guys, As in my previous post I am working on the A C for the 67.. I have not got into the firewall as of yet.. As i did some research for the AC w/tri power, I discovered that the Alternator was switched to the left side instead of on the right side as the kit comes..Soooo i had to make a dual ( power steering / alternator )bracket along with the new AC Condenser and necssary brkts for that.. That has proven to be a real pain in the --- .. Have made some progress on them , but still have some more smaller brackets to make-- then make A C Lines and do the firewall-- Not sure but I think I am having fun Anyway here's a couple pic's to show what i mean.. Thanks Tom

Well Thank You to those who answered last post.. Have been pondering back and forth over the wheel's..Made one set which I really did not like that much so out with the Xacto and Magnifying Glass again. These wheels I found in the parts bin , Had to have come with one of the Oldsmobile kits I have as they have Oldsmobile insignias in the center caps and are close to the design of the first wheel , so I think I will be using them..With much alteration though.. ( just cant leave well enough alone ---can I ).. Am also pondering as to weather or not to make Disc Brakes for it ? Anyway here is a pic or two of the first set and the new set.. New ones have to get re chromed -- am striping them now.. Enjoy pics.. And as always any comments suggestions or chit chat welcomed.. Thank Tom

Oh Yea,
When these are all done they will look very close to set 4.. Which i believe are Torque Thrust or the old Astro Supreme Wheel..

Thanks for posting Guys.. Here is a short update on the wheel, brake set up..Yes I decided to try and make disc brake set up for it.. After I got into it I figured I might just as well do 4 wheel disc set up, after all a Concept car can have stuff not offered on original factory cars , right?? Anyway here is a couple shots of the set up..They are still two piece wheels and need to paint rotors and calipers as well as re chrome rims..Not sure what color to use for the rotors as I do not want them to out shine the Re chromed wheel's..or what color to use for the Calipers.. Rotors were made by reversing orig backing plate for wheels, calipers were cut from strip styrene and cut to fit.. still have a little clean-up to do but I think they turned out pretty good.. Comments, Suggestion's, defiantly welcomed ... Enjoy the pic's Tom

4 wheel disc brakes on a '67 concept is very plausible. Corvettes were factory 4 wheel disc with 4 piston calipers starting in '66. Your brakes look good. As far as painting, if I was doing it and didn't want to take away from the wheels, I would do the rotors flat steel/natural steel and the calipers maybe gunship gray. you would see them but it would be subdued and more realistic. If I decided to make the calipers pop a bit more I would paint them the color of the car body. Just my opinion, I have buckets full of opinions.

Thanks DC ,
Want to get back to it , as soon as I get 60s Decade build done .. This is my first contest I ever entered -- the detail work ( I bit off ) is extremely time consuming.. Also , most detailed I ever tried...But am learning a lot for when I do get back to Project 67 and other builds I have waiting....

Hi All.. Well took the old 442 wagon ( project 67 ) out of storage and is heading for the bench, soon as I get it cleared up a bit.. The Old ( GM ) Concept Wagon will start to move on soon, after being sidelined for over a year..The only thing I have done since you all last saw it was a little more work on the Hood ( pic included ).. Don't think I can use this for a up coming contest as it was already started - so on we go.. Think I may open up the Doors - kind of like that idea..Not sure what ( if anything ) to do with the roof -- close it back up - add vista cruiser with open sun roof or close roof and add vista roof Any thoughts ? Anyway here is a pic of the new design on Hood... Have to look for some different Wheels as those I did already I do not like.More to come Tom thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon Ice Man or Granpa Beast >>>How do I change the thread name from the old name to Project 67 ?

Glad to see an update on this one. What do you have in. Ind for new wheels?
To edit the name you'll need to edit the very first post for this thread. That will let you change the name.

Tom, NICE work! I have to say, I did not read through the whole posting, but thats why I'm saying this as I got to ask, is the wagon a resin body? ? That roof line be a GREAT candidate for removal to placed on a Mopar to have a "start" to what the Mopar looked like around the same year as this one!

Iceman: not sure about new wheels yet.I do like the style I made that are pictured , but they did not turn out to have the chrome look that I was after. So new wheels are (open ??) at this time-any ideas? Don't want 20s or anything like that, just original size wheels for a 67 , but spoke like I tried to make.. Thank you for the tip on changing the Thread name... BigD : I was born on Chicago proper , but lived in suburbs for most of my life till 78 when we moved to Florida. I lived in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Hemi: No it is the Plastic Lindberg kit.The Roof line was actually a 67 Chevelle roof cut off a old chevelle ,grafted to the Olds. Then tons and tons of modification to get it to where you see it now.. If I would have realized how much I would cut up the chevy roof,I probably would have completely scratch built a roof. ( might have been less trouble ). This thing has had tons of modifications all over// - roof - tailgate - rear bumper - hood - interior floor and interior side panels - taillights - side panels when gate is opened.. Guess that's why I kind of got off of it for a while.Still lots modification planned to do , hopefully this time I will finish it.. Thank's All. Tom

This is very cool! You can tell a lot of work has gone into this conversion. I think a vista top would be perfect, plus I love vista cruisers lol.
