Ok Gang I know youve been waiting and man have I been busy, but I finally got it all put together. I hope everyone likes and understands everything. If not comment and we will work this out together.
First off I would like to welcome new Admins Wisdom , JKFlash and Meg77 !! All will work with me to solve problems, create themes and contests and answer your questions. in addition Wisdom will be taking over Cruising To Mels , this friday will be his first cruise !! I will message you and we can go threw it together. JKFlash will be taking over the MOTM contests ! John I will work with you through out January to get you going ! And Meg77 has volunteered to take over the boarder pictures as well as our FaceBook page, thanks Honey Bunny !!
Next i have asked several questions, set up a bunch of polls and talked at length with some of you and I want to thank you all for your in put. And her are the results.
Starting in January winners of MOTM and Bracket Racing will receive a $15.00 gift card from Hobby Lobby. Winners of any three month build will get two kits. and anyone winning MOTY or Bracket Racer of the Year will get a prize package of two kits, parts, tools and anything else I can throw in the box. We will still except donation if you feel so inclined.
As for rule changes, I have seen great improvement in the results of the last few races, maybe more are using the vote sheets or maybe we are just being more picky either way I am not going to install the rule of skipping winners. In the next day or two I will be making some changes to the site rules as well as the rules for each contest but they will have more to do with pictures. Make sure you read them when posted.
Next I will be having a three month EBay build challenge ( no date set ) right now I just need to know who/ how many want to take part. I will buy the kits and like in the past you will send me the built kit or 25.00 by the due date. If your interested message me.
No changes to the Bracket race themes for 2017 but here is the themes for MOTM 2017 and the 4 - three month builds we will be having. Any questions ask the admins
Jan - Made in 1940 or 1950
Feb - Muscle Car - any year any car , must give back ground story as to why it is a Muscle Car
Mar - Lowrider - anything slammed, lowered, hydraulic or air bags
Apr - Chevy - any chevy , any year, any way
May - Ford - any Ford, any year, any way
June - Mopar - any Mopar, any year, any way
July - Patriotic - any car, any year, must SCREAM 4th of July !!!!!!!!
Aug - Imports - think Fast and Furious , big wings, lots of nitrous !!!!!
Sept - Pick Ups - Any make, any year, built any way 2 wheel or 4 wheel to include utes, el caminos, rancheros
Oct - Scary - any car any year, must have a scary or Halloween theme
Nov - VWs - any vw works, van, bug, beetle, dune buggies
Dec - Santas Ride - any thing Santa may use to deliver toys !!!
Three Month Builds
Jan, Feb, Mar - ( due Mar 31st )
Next in the Decade build - AK won and has chosen 1930 ! - any kit 1930 to 1939, built any way you want !!
Apr, May, Jun - ( due Jun 30th )
Anniversary Build - 2017 theme is Pro Street - any car , any year, must be street legal as per your state. No guest judges / we will do it our selves !
Jul, Aug, Sep - ( due Sep 30th )
Big Scale - any car or truck, any year, built any way. Must be a scale bigger than 1/24 or 1/25
Oct, Nov, Dec - ( due Dec 31st )
Heavy Custom - this will be a 50s/ 60s style custom , think Barris, Roth, Starbird
On Nov 1st I will be asking for Secret Santas, anyone who signs up will agree to send a wrapped gift ( kit ) to another Secret Santa. On Christmas everyone will share what they got from their Secret Santa and these will be the new February 2018 MOTM theme "Look What Santa Got Me" only those who take part in the Secret Santa give away can compete on that Feb Contest.
Lastly Like I said I still have some minor things in the works and keep an eye out for those rule changes. As for all the contests, here is a hint..... I am starting March, June, July, August, September, October, November, December and all four of the three month builds now. I take the pictures need to make them legal and I keep them in a folder. I do not post them here or anywhere else. An then when the month / contest comes up I get out and post the correct pictures for that contest. In other words its ok to build ahead !!!!
