I know this is an automotive site and all but some of us dabble in other subjects such as aircraft, ships and armor. I was just curious to see those builds of you guys that are not automotive related to kind of jog things up a bit. I'll start off with my1/48 SBD Dauntless that I kit bashed a Hasegawa SBD to detail up.

Thanks CC. Sheesh I think Revell makes a decent 1/72nd scale version , then there's the Minicraft 1/72nd scale, and then the Italeri 1/72nd scale I believe Testors makes a 1/48th scale kit but that thing is HUGE. 1/144 scale kits aren't my thing but I've seen a really good build from that scale (warning-If you do go 1/144 stay away from the Hobby Craft kits-They are horrible IMO). 1/72nd scale is a good size for these and if I were building one I'd go with the Revell or Italeri offerings.

That is one cool looking plane mate, all the metal work looks so real too. I'm like CC, NOTHIN'..... The last plane I built, used too much glue, 2 tubes from memory, but I was only about 6 years old.....

I've bought a few small ww1 bi planes, but never actually built one(apart from a 144 747 with my dad before he passed so it's being left as he built it, I usually just used the wingtips for fender skirts. I have been eyeing up some 1/24 dinosaur skeleton and boat kits though but they would be for a different load than the usual types on a truck kit.

Well Mustang - you definitely lit the fire! I sure hope you will be available next week to help explain all the boxes that will be arriving from eBay! To this point, I have (2) 1/72 kits coming, a photo etch set, and have bids on (3) other kits. One of which is a 1/48! All in all, if I win what I am after, I will have dropped a couple hundred on these SR71 kits Now, just need to think of a place to hide them all!!

Here's another dive bomber for the mix....I finished this thing up around August of 2014. I had been waiting 18 years to build this and finally got around to it. I started with a Hasegawa offering and used an Aires cockpit update kit. I have the double throw down Aires update with the enigne and all but just couldn't bring myself to break up the lines of this beautiful snake motif on this particular bird that I chose to build. I also used an Eduard canopy mask and some Verlinden details in the forum of the oil reservoir access displayed just in front of the cockpit on the port side and the wing mounted machine gun internals on the port wing. Paints are all Master Modeler acrylics on the exterior.
Depicted here is aircraft T6+CP of 6/StG 2 from Libya in 1941 and was flown by Leutnant Hubert Polz. Its one of the more interesting schemes out there for Stukas. The color of the motif from what research I have done is still a mystery. It's either red or tan. I had both but chose to go with red due to the more sinister look of the red.

Just hide them in the middle of your car stash mate, then one day, exclaim, " where did these come from?? " That bomber looks cool too Mustang.. Nice work sir.
